I understand what you guys mean about genre snobs in music. I'm a metal fan but I can honestly get into almost anything. Even the extreme ends of the metal spectrum (brutal deathcore) to the intricate song structures of classical. I just enjoy music.Wolverines Wings Same Old Lions Tigers Pistons Erika ChristensenComment

Same here. That's why I hate crappy music, and hate that enough people can actually like it for it to be popular.Comment

Re: Off Topic 2011
Wiz Kalifa is the most senseless, pointless, talentless, softest, and vapid pop artist I've ever heard. His Black and Yellow song is a big bowl a useless dribble. Instead of using the opportunity to describe his life and struggle in Pittsburgh Penn, he decided to string together a bunch of random ideas that rival the incoherency of Lil Wayne's amilli and 6 foot 7 foot. But Unlike Wayne, Wiz has no charisma and nothing that sets him apart other than the random yellow part in his afro of "individuality". This guy is riding the coat tails of rappers that came before him on the whole "we high all the time ya feel me?" re-revolution that is going on nowadays. While you have other mainstream and "underground" rappers filling their tracks and lines with their internal struggles, domestic issues, and social issues, even a jubilant party song, Wiz Kalifa gives you a shallow, slow, drug induced, cocktail of simple one syllable rhymes that add up to another mind boggling pop sensation.
Then when I try to give him the benefit of the doubt. I say "hey its one song. he needs that one big song then he's gonna get real for us" WRONG. This Plane is nothing more than a Drake song in Black and Yellow skin.
I feel like I've gone in enough before I lose my **** all together. What I typed could have been worded nicer...

I will give Wiz this, his new single "Roll Up" is catchy, but that's about all he has going for him.
I remember people raving about his K&OJ mixtape like it was the greatest thing since Illmatic, and I literally did not like any song on it at all. It was horrible.Comment

Re: Off Topic 2011
Yeah, I agree. I think part of the problem is that musically, so much has already been done. A certain new beat now always "reminds" us of another song with a similar beat, or a guitar riff was "influenced" by music of 20+ years ago. Now when I listen to radio the lyrics are so simple. I miss the metaphors.Wolverines Wings Same Old Lions Tigers Pistons Erika ChristensenComment
