I'd seek Dayman's advice and see how he copes with it.

Re: Off Topic 2011
Welcome to COLLEGE and the REAL WORLD. This is the time where you will either sink or swim. And you are currently sinking fast. People make a crack at you, crack at them back.
People will always judge you on how you look, it is just human nature. Hell people probably judging you right now just off your screen name.
Just do you. I hate to see people waste a great social experience college life truly is because they get cracked on then they end up turtling up inside of their dorm room for the rest of the school year. Can't hide from the world, if you do that, you going to miss out on a lot of great things in life.
You're right though. Maybe if I start cracking back, I will get a little more respect. I've never been the type to start stuff, but I'm sick of people saying **** to me and then I find myself forcing myself not to say anything back.Pittsburgh Penguins

Re: Off Topic 2011
A bit of a vent:
Here's the deal. I'm 18 years old, just started college. Only problem is I am very young looking and look about anywhere from 13-15. This is super annoying. I was just walking down the streets of my campus tonight, and I overheard at least three people comment on it. I feel like I'm at the point where I feel super self-conscious every time I go out and I feel like no one will ever take my seriously.
I also hate how people have to comment right to my face. Someone said to me the other day, "Wow, you look to young to go to college." Yeah, no **** Sherlock. People also say mean things about it, and I always wonder why. Does it make them feel better? Do they feel clever or witty? Honestly, the only thing their comments do is make me feel kinda ****ty about myself and my appearance. I obviously don't want to be like this. Why make fun of me for something I have no choice over?
Even worse is when people say, "You'll love it when you're older." Thanks. That really does a lot for me now, when I'm trying to make new friends and not feel like a complete joke.
I know it sounds like whining (and it probably is just whining), but I'm at wits ends with it. It's tough for me to have a thick skin about it because I constantly have to deal with it.
Sorry for the rant, but I just really needed to get that off my chance on a place where I can be anonymous and not have people judge me based off how I look.

I make more short jokes about myself than anybody. Most of the time if I beat someone to joking about it, it stops them in their tracks.
And if that fails, there's always the option to kill them.Member: OS Uni Snob Association | Twitter: @MyNameIsJesseG | #WT4M | #WatchTheWorldBurn

Heh, I have no intentions of hiding. I can make friends. I just can't stand the fact that I can't give a good first impression based on how I look. No one except my good friends can take me seriously. But I guess some people are just douchebags.

Re: Off Topic 2011
I actually had this happen my first couple years in college. I had one moment where a Korean lady (at a dry cleaners) said something in Korean which her co-worker translated to me as mentioning I look too young to be in school. I 'LOL'ed and said "thanks". Never heard anything like it beforehand.
In my situation, I found that growing a scruffy beard and doing the Clint Eastwood glare at folks kept 'em quiet.Comment

Heh. I wish I could grow a beard. Eventually. Thanks for the advice though, guys. It just felt good to vent and now I realize I was just pissed off after being just destroyed tonight.Pittsburgh Penguins

It's much more beneficial for me to keep a trimmed beard than deal with shaving every day. By the end of the day my face is a series of sharp daggers if I shave in the morning.Comment

Same. Haven't touched my razor in a long time. Always just trim it to the lowest setting thing on my trimmer.Comment
