slick, I've got two words for ya NEW *****. Go get some. You did the right thing man. You can't let that broad treat you like a doormat, so way to stand up for yourself. Also, be thankful that she had this change of heart (or whatever the hell it is) now, instead of waiting until your married, then she would have really ****ed **** up.

Hell, that's what happened to me. I got married when I was 22 (coincidentally, 9 years ago today was the big day). About a year later we bought a car and house together, had two dogs, both got back in school the whole nine yards. Ten months after buying our house she decided "that she didn't want to be married anymore". She gave me the who spiel about still loving me and that she would maybe want to get back together in the future and all that garbage, but I did just like you and said **** that I deserve better. It sucked a big one for awhile, but honestly that breakup was one of the best things that ever happened to me. This is probably already too long, but I could share many awesome stories of being a single guy with you and I'm sure I'm not the only guy here who could. Also, I hear that girls nowadays have looser morals than they did a few years ago, which is a plus. Another angle is if you look on the bright side, every time I've known of a chick ****ing on her dude like that, the guy usually ends up coming out smelling like a rose. Hell, check out longshawdow's thread on here if you haven't already. Talk about an upgrade....

To add on to this....

Marriage is such a big step, with major complications, possibly. I'm not saying not to get married, but, definitely wait until a certain age.

The general consensus is mid-to-late 20s, if not, later.

These days, it's all about the 'experience.' I personally refer to that as whoring. That's both for males and females, and 'obviously' more accepted if a guy does it. We are 'expected' to, I guess.

I have a girlfriend right now, first serious relationship. I'm 23 and I have been with this girl for about a year and a half now. Before this, it was basically girls as 'friends,' if you get what I am saying.

In Slicks' case, they were oh so young when they got together. You don't, and don't take this personally, know nothing about life at that age. I have personally grown up so much from even 18-19 to 20. My own personal life has forced me to grow up quicker.

I know more 25-28 year old people, who's maturity/responsibility level is basically at the level of a high school sophomore.

Slick, you will find someone better for you. I truly believe, at the end of the day, (month, year, etc) good people will have good things happen to them. From the story you have told, you seem like a good guy, your reward will come when you are ready for it.

Also, speaking of women backtracking, I know a friend of a friend who got ****ted on by a girl. They were engaged to be married and he had signed papers on a new house, down payment down and everything. Well, she didn't want to get married a week before the wedding, and left him. He was stuck with the house, obviously, and is still trying to get rid of it. Moral of the story, DON'T. BUY. A. HOUSE. BEFORE. YOU. HAVE. BEEN. LEGALLY. MARRIED. FOR. A. LENGTHY. PERIOD. OF. TIME!!!!!!!

So on September 4th the Red Sox had a 8 game lead over the Rays. On that night Bill Buckner appeared on Curb.

Since then the Red Sox only won 6 games. Buckner wore 6 as a red sox.....#BucknersRevenge?
