Here's the one I just got.If it's just for browsing the internet and random stuff, then sure. You don't need to be picky at all, considering your turd has done well enough up to this point. It's only when getting into gaming do you really need to heavily scrutinize everything.
One thing is that it's an Acer though, their reliability can be suspect, but with any low end stuff, HP, dell, whatever it's luck of the draw sometimes. I bought an Acer a few years ago and the motherboard fried in less than a year, so i basically gutted it and replaced everything and made a low-mid range gaming PC. My dad also bought and Acer, and the Power supply kicked the bucket in only a few months as well.
Anyway, I looked around and found a better Acer, that's about 50 bucks more, but is probably twice as good. CPU is much faster(3.2ghx to 1.6ghz, has more a gig more ram, and A 1TB Hard drive, twice as large as the others. It lacks an HDMI port though, and only has 4 USB ports and 2 of which would be taken up by the mouse and keyboard.
Both of these are still low end Micro towers, which have little room for expansion, i.e high end video cards and such, not that I think you're interested in that now anyway. Still, Either one will be infinitely better that what you're using now.
Another thing I'd recommend is using NewEgg for when buying PC stuff, best place online for this stuff, imo. Still always best to shop around though, and read the reviews.
I'm not totally sure I'd be using it as a gaming computer. It'd be nice considering some of the benefits of playing on PC, but I think I'd just stick with my PS3. Plus I hate the idea of having to constantly upgrade my computer just to keep up with the new games that come out.
As long as I can just browse the internet, watch videos, and basic things like that, I'm good. To be honest this computer I'm using right now isn't too bad for the most part (aside from the lack of memory obviously), but there are times where it can get really bad and something that should only take me 5 minutes to do ends up taking me 20 minutes, if not more. Also, multi-tasking can be a pain in the *** as well.
What I'd like to do is save up for a Mac but I don't think I have the patience for that.Last edited by BlueNGold; 10-28-2011, 08:10 PM.Originally posted by bradtxmaleI like 6 inches. Its not too thin and not too thick. You get the support your body needs.

Re: Off Topic 2011
You don't have to constantly upgrade your PC. Build it correct the FIRST TIME and a gaming PC can last you a good 4 or 5 years. I noticed the problem most people make when building their own PC is that they cut corners up front instead of just getting the best out there up front.
1000 watt PSU - You will never have to upgrade it EVER.
Quad core or higher - You will never have to upgrade it EVER.
6gb of RAM - you will never have to upgrade it EVER. Even though RAM is so cheap nowadays, might as well get 16gb worth. I mean seriously you can get 16gb of RAM for $90 now.
GTX 560, 570, 580 or any 6800 or 6900 Radeon series graphics card and it will last you for a good 4 years or more for 99% of PC games.
Honestly a gaming PC isn't as much as a hassle as people think it is. Build it right the 1st time and it will last you as long as a console life cycle.Comment

Re: Off Topic 2011
This is indeed true, I had to cut corners at the time, because it was either that or no computer at all, and my PC is quickly becoming dated, still it's done me well. My issue is that I left my self no room for expansion(dated Mobo, and too small of a case), so I'd have to build an entirely new PC to upgrade.
That is why I always tell people to go all out on their case, motherboard and PSU. That way you leave yourself room to upgrade minor stuff 5 years or so down the road.
Heck one of the newer cards I forgot the name of it, but it is 14 inches long.Comment

Yeah that is a bad feeling when you do have the money to get the card you want but it won't fit inside of your case. Because if you have to replace your case then you basically have to replace the motherboard as well.

I had to actually get a smaller Video card than I wanted, for fear of it not actually fitting. The hard drive is a really bad spot in my Tower, it's lined up horizontally with the PCI slot, taking up a good 2-3 inches of space where the video card would go. I also went with a low end mobo(I have a small tower), which means I would need to replace it because it's incompatible with DDR3 ram, and for compatibility with I series processors. I would've liked to go all out, but couldn't at the time, next time I won't mess around though.
I'd like to add that building a PC, is way easier than it sounds. The only thing you need to worry about if static electricity, frying your parts, and the occasional Dead on Arrival part. Otherwise it's like building a really expensive *** lego.-Ohio State-
