10 hours down 4 to go. Come on weekend.Originally posted by Anthony BourdainThe celebrity chef culture is a remarkable and admittedly annoying phenomenon. Of all the professions, after all, few people are less suited to be suddenly thrown into the public eye than chefs. We're used to doing what we do in private, behind closed doors. -
I've heard this "patience is a virtue" junk all my life. I'm happy to say I have no virtue, no scruples, and no desire to wait too long for anything. In my humble opinion instant gratification takes too long!

Re: Off Topic 2011
I dont know what happened in the past year but I got really terrible at hitting in softball.
I used to play softball a lot and could literally pinpoint where I wanted to hit the ball (shallow right, left center, over the 3rd baseman) but now I can't even hit it out of the infield.
Im lucky to make decent contact with the ball.
I've gone to the batting cages to see whats wrong and I am always hitting the ball with the inside of my bat, getting that "jammed feeling."
Been trying to fix it by choking up, standing further outside, etc. but nothing.
I played baseball for 10 years, why can't I figure this out!
And I love chapped lips.“No one is more hated than he who speaks the truth.”

You know you live in a small town with very low crime, when you see car after car after car with their car doors unlocked in a store parking lot.
I think me and my wife are the only ones who locked their car doors out here.Comment

Well......if you are average grown man height, as you are walking and look down, you can see the latch sticking way up in the air through the window. Which you only see sticking that far up when the car door is unlocked. When the door is locked, that latch is down.
But being you are so short, you can't see over the car door as you are walking. In order for you to look through a car door window, you have to jump up. And for those 2 brief seconds up in the air, you feel like an average man, but then as you land back down, you let a sigh and say aweeee, I can't see anymore.
I bet you sit on a stack of phone books when you drive don't ya ? Get pulled over all the time because they think you are a 10 yr old boy joy riding. LOL

My friend and I once accidentally unlocked someone else's maroon Honda with his key . We sat down, I looked down and I said , "You don't drive an automatic."
...we JUMPED out of the car. Re-locked it and then found his , lolComment

Just a habit I always had when I see a car that looks nice, it makes me take a more detailed look. Kind of like when you walk past a good looking woman, you turn around and look at her some more.
Grant it the most seen car in Vermont in my area are Suburau. However every once in a while you do see some Bentleys, Porches and Mercedes out here as well.Comment

Re: Off Topic 2011
So I need some help. My company does a white elephant gift exchange, and considering I am a nerd and I work in a software company, I like to make my gifts kind of out there.
But I'm having some trouble this year. Here are the ones I've bookmarked so far:
Caffeinated Soap
Canned Unicorn Meat - actually a plush dismembered unicorn
Unicorn Chopsticks
Lunch Lady Action Figure
Our gift limit is 15 dollars, so that's kind of tough. Which should I pick? Any ideas?
And like everyone else, I like the canned unicorn meat. Do the pieces have velcro or snaps on them so it can be reassembled once taken out of the can?
How is that even possible?Steelers : IX, X, XIII, XIV, XL, XLIII
