Shot in dark: Someone ordered BBQ from Texas?

So this is a totally off the wall random shot in the dark..

I read a thread a little while back about someone who ordered some BBQ from Texas (99% sure it was Texas). I want to say it was either ribs or brisket (but, again, I'm not totally sure). I just remember someone telling how good they were (must be good if you're ordering them in!). My dad's birthday is coming up and I thought about this as a potential gift.. he's always bragging on his smoked meat so I thought this would give him a chance to try out the competition.

Basically that's all I have to go off of. I'm not even 100% sure it was on OS!



I'm just posting this, hoping that if it was on OS, maybe someone else will remember it because I couldn't find anything using the search feature.

If you're just 45 minutes away from Kansas City, why do you need Texas BBQ?

I have an LC's like 5 minutes away from my house and it's probably my favorite food in the city that's not BBQ. And then there's Oklahoma Joes. Holy ****, I don't think there's a better sandwich than the Z Man.

On my trip to KC, we had Arthur Bryant's, Gates, LCs, Oklahoma Joe's, and BB's Lawnside in a three day period. Utter heaven.

My buddy drove across the country last week and brought home a gallon of LCs BBQ beans......I cannot WAIT to eat them.


......anyway, I don't recall the Texas BBQ thing. I'm sure those places ship though. Shouldn't be terribly hard to find on Google.

Ah I forgot about LC's BBQ. We also have a local hamburger place called LC's that I love. I got confused. My favorites are Smokehouse, Jack Stack, Gates, and Oklahoma Joe's.

My dad sends out brisket from New Braunfels Smokehouse every Christmas, its in Texas. They're pretty good if I do say so myself.

We just smoked a brisket and a pork shoulder for a long while today. My buddies woke up early and smoked it for more than a few hours. Came out fan-tastic. Used some KC rub that my buddy brought back from there on a cross-country trip he did last week. He also brought back a huge vat of those LCs BBQ beans....un-freakin-real.

We also did Knackwurst and Bratwurst from Milwaukee.

Total---freakin---FEAST.

Damn, it's pretty sad I've lived in KC/OP for the last 11 years and have never been to Oklahoma Joe's or Gates...

If you figure out BBQ delivery let me kno!

When I was in Kansas City this fall for the ISU/KSU football game we stopped at LC's. Sure it was very good, but I wouldn't call it "great" barbeque. Maybe I just got the wrong thing!
