    Happy Martin Luther King Day!

To a person who believed that ALL should be treated equal in every aspect of life. He gave his human life to see that we as a nation would fulfill our belief that everybody is created equal. What are you doing to get the message across to each other and especially our children? Lord knows, we don't need another generation after us continuing the hate and destruction we perpetuate. And to a mod who sees this as too political, my apologies BUT this was in no way shape or form intended to get a political message across.

I have more respect for a man who let's me know where he stands, even if he's wrong. Than the one who comes up like an angel and is nothing but a devil. - Malcolm X

Great respect to a man who saw more than color but he saw people who needed to be united and not separated. For that I am grateful.

And he wasn't afraid to take on the power brokers. Analyze the speeches he made near the end of his life. He was talking some SERIOUS stuff - more 'radical' than people think.

I think at that time he was trying to reach out to the Black Panthers and people like Malcolm X. I wouldn't say King was becoming more "radical" but he definitely took some cues from the more radical black groups at the time.

(delete this if you think it's too political)

I do think MLK was truly one of the giants of the modern world and he'd be proud to see the progress made but rightly also notice some of the areas in which progress has stalled.

We all should remember the greatness and message of one Martin Luther King.

For those groups of his own kind it was very hard for them to see exactly what he was doing, because all they saw was the violence associated with it or for no reason. Eventually Malcolm came to understand, but when he did it was over for him too. It makes you wonder how different would it be for him to be around now. Would he have held a political office, ran for president you never know. I believe all thing happen for a reason good or bad. His death and recongition means alot.
