Yeah, getting the parents to actually be parents is the best way to help this out. Obviously, abstinence or safe sex is an alternative, but what teenager is going to want to do those things? They're not cool. And getting pregnant/becoming a father won't happen to them, of course.

The problem is, the parents were or are just like their kids. They grew up without a stable family foundation, and now they're old enough to continue the cycle.

So my buddies GF has some insider knowledge on what is going on down there. She said that in Memphis they have a High School that has all the classes and counseling these pregnant girls would get. So Basically instead of every High School having these classes, they ship all the Preggos to this school where they will get all the classes and counseling they need.

90 may seem like a big number but it is par for the course for any inner city school district.

To those suggesting that something should be taught to these kids (abstinence, birth control, safe sex etc.), these are the same kids that are failing Math, English and Social Studies.

Somewhere along the line a child learns some form of responsibility. The main instructor of that is the parent. The responsibility being taught is not, "Don't get someone/don't get pregnant." It is that every individual needs to take on his/her role in living what has been established as a normal life. Again, this falls on the parent first, with teachers and other healthy social environments reinforcing it.
