The only negative I've really seen about them is its hard to see past/over the hood for some. Other than that they seem to be great cars and always a head turner for me.

I haven't taken one for a test drive, but I did sit in it, because as I said, I've always been a truck guy and sitting that "low" to the ground was a new experience for me...

It would definitely be something I would have to adjust to for sure.
I can't shave with my eyes closed, meaning each day I have to look at myself in the mirror and respect who I see.

I miss the old days of Operation Sports :(

Yeah, the visibility is pretty poor IMO, especially the rear visibility. It's like sitting in a bunker or a tank or something.

Great looking car with plenty o' muscle, though. I mean, if it's a car you've sort of always wanted, no time like the present....

          Pretty much this.

. Rear visibility is bad but they do some neat things in the 2020 to help. Aside from the normal backup camera the rear view mirror can also be turned into a separate camera to better mimick a real rear view (can also be left to always on while you're driving). There are pretty bad blind spots on the sides but you will get that with most muscle cars

Traded in my 2017 Nissan Maxima today and with my wife’s blessing grabbed this 2020 Chevy Silverado.

              Congrats! Pretty blue.

I'm not a truck guy, but if I were to get one it would be a Silverado (I'm partial to Chevy). Good looking vehicle, and it's fun sitting up high.

Took my car in for its first oil change/maintenance. My lease schedule says I should be at 7000 miles. I'm at 2300 lol. I'm going to have to plan a road trip when all this covid stuff is over.

                Started with this last week

The finished product after a few additions

Don’t see myself doing anything else but loading up the clubs and going to play 18 in a few days when the weather heats up a bit.

First time/long time! I'm not a car guy, per se, but I picked up a Macan over the summer, and I still love it so much.

P.S. Ignore the illegal parking! I was at the gym on a Sunday!

Cant go wrong with a Porsche. How is acceleration on that, assuming it isnt the S model?

I'm not a racer or anything like that, and even the sales guy recommended not getting the S because it really wasn't worth it. WIth it being turbo-charged, it's still got excellent acceleration.

I was also looking at Tesla's, and make no mistake, I love the Teslas and all that the company has done and is doing. However, after doing a lot of research, Telsas were simply too overvalued at that time as they were depreciating around 51% annually compared to Porsche (about 9%...in the top 2-3 for depreciating car brands).

So while I love Teslas, and while no car purchase is a "good" investment, it just wasn't the right time for a Tesla, even with the "savings" on gas.

So all of that comes back to acceleration--no the Macan doesn't accelerate like a Tesla--nothing really does--but it's definitely the fastest car I've ever owned and fastest outside of the Teslas I took for a test drive.

Since I don't really drive like that, I wanted space and a bit more height. I also didn't want to buy a monster SUV or anything like that. I was looking at the Audi Q5s too which are built on the same VW chassis, but just loved the interior and drive of the Porsche.

Actually drove all the way from San Diego to Pasadena to pick it up. Was a really fun drive home!

                        Congrats, Mike.

Also, there is more to driving pleasure (fahrvergnügen, literally translated) than just acceleration. Some of the best cars I've ever driven could get beaten off the line to 60 MPH by only-slightly-modified-passenger sedans (although frankly, quarter-mile trap speed is probably a better indicator of torque performance, but I digress), but would be much more pleasant on tight twisties, long sweepers, and overall lightness-of-feel. I'd also take a stock Miata around a track like Road America vs even the car-magazine-special electric car of the month in a multi-lap race.

Of course at the end of the day it's whatever you enjoy, but I think raw off-the-line thrills are a pretty limited view of car performance (however you want to define that).

For sure--it's tough not to enjoy any drive.

I know that stretch of PCH well....I think they probably film like 70% of all car commercials there.

Surprising (and not surprising, simultaneously) that it's still so busy despite the alleged lockdown ongoing. Anyway, I would say the pleasure you get driving your car on a stretch of road like that is better than any dyno numbers in terms of measuring a car's "performance".

                            Enjoy.

Oh that was during the holidays on our way up to Napa to see some of my wife's family.

And for sure, just cruising is very enjoyable. It's so smooth and quiet.

I've finally gotten all of the pieces to wash and detail my car efficiently and on a weekly basis. Just washed and polished it last night, and snapped shots while going to Redbox lol.
