Unfortunately, I did not get to drive the proto... I did sit in it numerous times and google tho, LOL. I have some exclusive shots somewhere (shhhhh) - we actually did our testing on gas powered vehicles or on test stands with large electrical motors while the battery tech was being worked out.

All-in-all it was a fun project (and actually my last automotive related project) and is definitely an engineering feat and a work of art. Also, Elon Musk is a genius, really.

    Awesome.
On top of being a genius...he's got a set of balls. To take on a project like this...in an industry in which even the largest car companies still refuse to let go of their fossil fuel engines in their "ELECTRIC" cars.....and build that car basically from scratch(unlike the Lotus inspired Roadster)...is phenomenal.

    Thanks Moses....
But I gotta ask....do you mean my S5(sick, sick car) or the upcoming Tesla?

Well...if it makes you feel any better, my wife has a 2006 PT Cruiser and her second vehicle is a 2008(maybe 7?)...GMC Canyon(full crew cab).
I just filled that midsize truck up and it took 63 dollars of regular fuel. That was in New Jersey!(where gas prices are "low")

I was in the market for a newer model Z71 or something similar, but $80 + to fill up, after paying under $30 for so long just didn't appeal to me.

I came back to my first love, a fast *** 4cylinder car. I <3 the guys driving Mustang Gts rolling around town, who try to be smart asses to me, only to get burnt. No knock on Mustangs.. just some of the guys driving 'em.

I wish I had the money for an 01-03 SALEEN

Yeah it's a fun car. I can tell a big difference with the extra 20Hp from my 2008 model and the 7 speed is noticeable.

            Is the 09 a 7 speed?

I love the GS. It's the ultimate road cruiser.
            I'm almost sure the 09 is a 6 speed (definitely isn't a 7). It's 328hp. Definitely a fun car to drive. It's got some serious balls.

What I also like is how Infiniti does the AWD. It's 100% RWD in normal driving conditions, but when it feels a slip, it automatically redirects to 50/50. The GS that I have is 30/70 in normal driving and goes 50/50 in bad weather. Both go 50/50 when snow mode is selected. You being in CA though means you probably won't ever have to worry about AWD and snow mode!

Not to take over the thread, but do any of you use special products to clean the interior? I have tannish leather and everything rubs off onto it. Also the rest which is just that hard plastic is always dirty.

This thread has motivated me to completely detail my truck.

No the evo has been with me for only a couple months, just never posted pics, I ended up have my bro take it over. That's old pic though. I would say the evo is actually a better car all around with comfort and handleing. Very nice, bro ended up putting upgraded cams and he tuned it and got 350 hp to the wheels. insane. The interior is nice but it doesn't have that raw power that you can feel in the Sti.

I was intending to sell my Sti, but I dunno, i'm just in love with it I guess. I just can't get rid of it, did some work to it and i've been attached. I'll be getting a truck soon as I will start to seriously upgrade my sti now and getting it in the 400+hp range and it will be used on the track/weekend warrior.

As for my bro who lives with me...he just sold the Evo...which would be sad if it weren't for a 97 twin turbo SE Supra! I'll post pics tomorrow, he just got it so its sitting in the garage, nice and pretty. It's cool that me and my bro we'll share cars but I doubt he'll have me touch this one. haha.

I'll feel your pain too man. That 5.7 in the Charger is basically a truck engine too.

Those WRX's are so sweet though.. I contemplated getting a new one, but my wife really like's the Infiniti's and Infiniti gave us a deal we just couldn't turn down. (0 down and the same payment we had on our 08 model)

Still I have been thinking about getting an older WRX or an EVO to have fun with on the weekends. Problem is they are kinda hard to find used as people just don't want to give them up.

You'll have to post pics of the Supra.. My Neighbor has a TT Supra he's been working on for years. I think he takes it to the track fairly frequently.

Yeah I like the Tiburons and Hyundai in general. I like the look of my car and plus it is very reliable. For a car with over 90,000 miles it still runs great I've had no issues with it. I just got my title in the mail today after I payed it off recently but I think I'm going to stick with it as I don't want another car payment right now. But when it's time to buy a new car I'm going to look at Hyundai first.

I will say this. Hyundai has really stepped up their game recently. That Genesis coupe with the bigger engine is real nice. Lot of car for an affordable price.

This is definitely true. Having worked with them as a component supplier in the past, I can say that they have some very high design and quality standards. Even more so than Mercedes or any or the European manufacturers.

I think that certain stigma behind the name is starting to go away.

Agreed. They aren't the maker of cars that are simply cheap anymore. Their quality has improved leaps and bounds over the last couple of years, and their customer satisfaction and reliability ratings show it.
