    Re: suits

If you're only going to pay $150-$200 for a suit, the quality probably isn't going to be good.

I'm a huge fan of Brooks Brothers Fitzgerald (Slim Line) Suits. Unless they have a sale, the suits start at around $1000. When you buy a Suit from Brook Brothers, all the tailoring comes with the price and you don't have to pay extra.

If you want to avoid bunching at the back, I recommend Brooks Brothers Extra Slim Fit or Slim Fit Dress Shirts. You have to be in decent shape to make it work though (especially the extra slim fit). The Slim Fit and Extra Slim Fat Dress Shirts cost around $100.

I can't really justify spending $100 on a shirt at this point in my career.

I feel like the shirts are worth the money because of the quality and fit. I find that cheaper dress shirts don't last as long and don't look as good.

I just went to the Brooks Brothers website and there's a sale right now for the non-iron extra slim fit dress shirts (my favorite brand and fit) 3 for $219.

I think tomorrow is the day, 9 months later...

My sister is getting married and I graduate at the end of the year, so I convinced my mom to buy one for me Have a 50% off at Men's Warehouse, so I should be able to get something pretty decent. They are also doing a buy one, get one free today and tomorrow.

There's a place here in Lubbock called Levine's that sells brightly colored suits. My friend bought a purple one, a red one, and an orange one. I'm buying a purple one for my sister's wedding. They run about $120-150, so it's a heck of a deal.

Yeah you should definitely ask Barney, he's an expert on suits.

This is what I got. I tried on every 42L suit at Mens' Wearhouse and JC Penny. I wanted all black, then saw a subtle black on black striped at JCP that I liked. Went over to Macy's and I tried this one on, fit like a glove. I don't have to make any alterations to it. I could probably lose a little bit of my beer gut, but I don't plan on having it buttoned though so it shouldn't be a problem. I still need a shirt and tie though for the wedding I am going to. It's in Vegas so I am going for something bright.

Well I was beat to the chase with the Barney Stinson video...

I went with a Tommy Hillfinger "athletic" fitting suit back in december for a wedding. It was very slick looking and comfortable for me.

I have to settle for a very bright shirt. I found the color I want in a tie, but can't find a pure orange shirt. They are all a dull orange color.

How much shirt should stick out from the jacket? Personal preference? I tried it on with a long shirt today and liked the look with it sticking out.

The sleeve of your shirt should be just a little longer than the sleeve of your jacket.
