I would be fine with an alternate being black, because everyone is creaming themselves over the idea.

BUT THE PRIMARY BEING BLACK? Why even have anything interesting? Why be unique? There are NO other teams in the NFL using teal. Not a one. "Let's get the **** away from that and be completely boring and not unique at all!"

I hear you on that. The Jags always looked great with the teal jerseys and IMO that's their best look. Why screw around with something so great. I know having a teal jersey for a Florida team is kinda mimicking the whole Dolphins in aqua thing but it's a unique look that has aged very well.

It's not BFBS. If I remember correctly, the Jags were actually originally going to wear black jerseys, but they decided to make teal more prominent.

I get the move. I liked that they wore teal and that was unique. But the Black does look a little better, imo, and having the black be the dominant color could help more with merchandise sales and connecting with a broader fan base. There are a lot of people that didn't like the teal. If they go all black or with white pants, it will give them a unique look as well. The Steelers are the only team with black helmets and jerseys, and not wearing yellow pants will set you apart pretty well.

It all depends on how the jerseys actually look. If they're good then I'm fine with it, but if not then obviously it's a bad decision.

I hope not. If teal is relegated to a secondary color, I think gold should be kept off. The only exception would be if they put the jaguar back on the sleeve. The old black jersey made it look like the team's colors were black and gold, not black and teal.

I didn't know that about the original concept design. I can live with the black jerseys as long as they don't go with the leotard look like the Saints have for the Saints have for the last few years. It's one of the worst looks for any team. If they wear white pants with it then it should look better.

However, for my money the teal is better but you know diff'rent strokes for diff'rent folks.

I guess i'll just have to see how it looks.

Glad they went with something a little less um, stuck in the fashion of the times and went with these:

I was pretty young at the time, but I remember hearing they were thinking black jerseys early on. Heck, I even think Madden '95 had them in black (though it's been a long time, and I could be totally off).

Either way, I think making black your identity could work. I would prefer either white pants or black pants with teal socks or striped black socks.

The rumor is, the 2013 uniforms will be pretty radical. They actually wanted to use them next year, but didn't meet the deadline. Here are some fan concepts. I think some of them are pretty cool.



I actually kinda like these. I'd stick with a black facemask, but as far as radical goes, I don't these are bad at all.





These are pretty nice, but simple. Which is why I don't think we'll ever see it.




I like these. I'd get rid of the gold outline on the numbers and just make it solid teal/black though.




I think these are ugly.

Btw, on the poll on Big Cat Country (a Jaguars site), 74% are in favor of the change.
