So the Dolphins are getting a new logo and jerseys next year. I had no idea until I seen this supposed leaked logo on Deadspin.



Don't really know why they need to make changes as I don't really have an issue with their logos or uniforms, but I'm intrigued by what they could come up with for their jerseys. Then again, this will be the second full-on Nike NFL uniform after the Seahawks last year, so I guess I could be a little horrified of the possibilities as well (even though the Seahawks unis have kiiiind of grown on me).

Not bad, though the first thing I noticed was that the dolphin doesn't have eyes. Also, I think the dolphin should be slightly more centered over the sun so the logo doesn't look quite so lopsided.

As for worrying about what Nike might do, did any of you ever see this supposed Dolphins prototype from a while back?

Also, about those NBA Christmas jerseys; they were terrible. I thought Houston, Denver, Brooklyn and maybe Miami were the least offensive but they all looked like some knockoff jerseys you'd buy from China. Just a terrible idea by the NBA to use them in all those marquee games.

That prototype was from the mid to late '90s when Marino was still playing. Thank goodness it never got on the field.

As to that new logo posted, I've heard about it and it's based on the Dolphins Stadium logo used a few years ago:

So if that logo posted above is anything near official than they've clearly tweaked it a bit. I dunno, the logo isn't the worst thing ever. I'm just worried what Nike would do with aqua as the dominant color scheme. Although, the grey Seahawks uniforms have grown on me. I'm still iffy on the official home/road ones though.

Not really, they've always been aqua and orange (they've even worn an orange alternate jersey in the past), though maybe a bit more subdued that that logo. I thought it was more the Marlins becoming more like the Dolphins. but really I think Miami is just trying to steal Pittsburgh's thing with all the pro sports teams having the same or essentially the same (Pens wear Vegas gold rather than yellow gold) color scheme.

There's something about the Dolphins logo I hate but I can't put my finger on what it exactly is. This might sound absolutely absurd, and it probably is, but the logo almost looks feminine or something. I can't explain why or how but there is something about it.

I probably sound ridiculous but thats the best way I can put it. It's a beautifully designed logo but it'd be awesome as a logo for anything else but a football team.
