I bet the answer is "no" and that's what the aqua is to Miami. They really need to balance the pants out with a stripe along the side as just plain aqua makes it look like leotards which is a problem that plagues teams like the Saints.

That is in no way the same.

Sure it is, it's part of the team's historical identity, Sure it's not as important in the overall scheme of things but in regards to the team identity it's huge. A good example of teams completely ditching their identity in order to be "cool" are the Blue Jays, from 2004-2011 they made black a primary part of their identity and pushed the blue back to being a secondary color. It was a wrong headed move and it didn't scream "Blue Jays". That's why when the Flashback Friday promotion got going and was hugely popular in merchandise sales AND the return of Paul Beeston to the helm of the team's operations the Jays pretty much went back to a variation of the '92-'93 uniforms.

Another example would be the Mets who basically went BFBS for a long period and now they're wearing retroish uniforms that are just GORGEOUS and pays homage to the team's history.

I don't mind the aqua pants, but the Dolphins didn't start wearing them until the late 80s. And even then, they wear them somewhat sporadically.

Yeah, I think 1990 was the first appearance of the aqua pant.

So not quite the whole existence but I agree that the aqua is significant in the teams identity, but so is orange, and they pretty much completely removed it, so there's that.

The disappointment in the lack of orange cannot be overstated for me. Doesn't ruin the uniform, but damn. I like the white facemask, but the number outline and pant stripe are in dire need of more orange

The more I see of the Vikings uniforms, the more they've grown on me.

                Just because it's a tradition or part of a "team's identity" doesn't mean it's a good thing.

I know it's a D2 school. They play in the GLIAC. But I still don't see the point in any team having names on the back of the helmets. It just seems a little pointless.

No one ever said football uniforms had to have a point? Perhaps it was to get noticed. Chances Findlay was posted about... well, anywhere here before now? 0.

Well, we'll have to agree to disagree. True. It is something out there and different. But I just find it ridiculous. I should point out, too, that it also helps that I enjoy it more when teams don't wear names on their backs at all, just numbers. So that probably plays into it somewhat.
