    shoe inserts

    Anyone use them?

I have a pretty good pair of aisics(cayano 16), but they are about 8 months old and the inserts in them are pretty thin now. These are my workout shoes so I like to keep support and comfort high. I am to cheap to buy a new pair right now.

Are Dr. Scholls any good or do they get by on their name alone now? Any other brands out there? I'm not wanting to spend more then $30. Wal Mart or Amazon are my only options to get them from.

Dr Scholls works wonders, they aren't that expensive.

Good deal. Looks like the ones their website recommends are only $6! Hopefully they fit, I wear a size 12 shoe.

Yeah, I had a pair of either Aasics or Reebok (I forget which) that were supposed to be good for walking yet they killed my feet. Got a pair of Dr Scholls inserts and it made it much better. It seems like Nike is the only brand of shoe that fits me right.

I have Dr. Scholls on the pair of shoes I wear for most of the year. It works pretty well though I think I will have to buy a new pair soon.

Yep, I have a pair of them in every pair of shoes I own.

Update. Got some of the ones made for athletic shoes. WOW! My arch pain is completely gone and my feet stay comfortable all day. I wear a size 12 asic and they were an exact fit to what was in there. After about a week of wearing them the pain was gone. I got them at the end of March. Put them in an old pair of Asic's this past week. I was at a music festival and on my feet for 5-6 hours at night. They got tired obviously, but didn't have any pain.

I have high arches, so I like to have more support in my shoes. If you get a salesperson who knows their stuff, they can steer you in the right direction for shoes with more support. This is usually in the form of a higher density foam in the arch area, but this might limit your choices in terms of style/brand.

I used a lot of different inserts and most didn't do the job. I had one pair made for athletic shoes that were fantastic, but unfortunately I don't remember the brand. When I was buying some dress shoes for work recently, the sales guy told me about HAPAD, a company that makes specialty inserts that happens to be about 15 minutes from my house. I think I need to give them a call. I'm also considering seeing a podiatrist to get a better idea about what's going on.
