I had a pretty good night at bowling...

I bowl once a week on Thursday nights in a money league. Been bowling for about 25 years so I always try to join the better leagues in Long Island. I had a good night this past Thursday.

Started the first game with the front 4 strikes, then a spare, then the next 4 strikes. Tenth frame I BURIED the first shot, left a stone 7-pin (I'm right-handed, this is rare). Picked it up, threw a strike for the 257 (should've been 279).

Second game I was just ON! Everything was falling, even the not-so-good shots, ended up bowling my second career 300.

Third game I started with the first 3 strikes, then got a little unlucky on a mixer 7-pin that didn't mix well, then threw the next 4 strikes. Ninth frame I stoned a 10-pin and converted. Going into the last game, I needed one mark for my first ever 800 series. I was more nervous about the 800 then the second game 300 because in bowling, an 800 series is a more respectable accomplishment than shooting a 300 nowadays (in my league anyway). I went up there and surprisingly I wasn't that nervous. I crushed the first one and just needed 5 pins for the 800. I left another solid 10-pin which I converted for the 248 and an 805 series.

I was so pumped, I never thought I'd break the 800 plateau (even though my average is 221) so this really was an amazing accomplishment for me. Just thought I'd share with the OS community. Thanks for reading.

Congrat's, I'm bowling once a week this year and that's saturday nights. No practice or anything just go to league and bowl, averaging a 195, I know I should be in the 2's average wise if I actually practiced. Shot 687 last week.

That's awesome, congrats. I'm not much of a bowler, go maybe 3-4 times a year, but have gotten better over the years, average about 180 now. I couldn't imagine a 300 game, that's crazy.

Nicely done, man. Thats pretty impressive. I actually had a 300 thrown against me this week in my travel league. Lol.

Nice to see another avid bowler on here. I thought I was the only one. I bowl (well I guess now its bowled) for Missouri State University and also in a few other leagues here and there.

Bowling at the collegiate level has shown me just how tough this game actually is. The effect that an oil pattern has on your game is something most non-bowlers (and some bowlers) will never understand.

But enough rambling. Congratulations again. Keep up the good bowling.

My mental game is horrible right now, I shot a 216,218 first two, make it through a bracket, and have 3 queens in a texas hold'em game we play, I just gotta get my average last game which is a 197, start off first 3 strikes, 9 spare, then strike, then slowly choke away the game. Need the first 2 strikes in the 10th frame, first ball I threw, thought it was the best shot all night stone 10 pin finished the game with a 180, lost the card game, choked away 80 dollars . Really could've used that money, just disappointed in myself big time tonight.
