. Any way have you been clock before? When I was in HIGH SCHOOL, my friend could reach the high 90's (got drafted by the Giants) but that was some major heat.

Radar (pitching)
So how fast have you been clocked pitching? I was at a fair last month and they had a radar to see how fast you can throw. I played baseball in little league and always had a cannon for an arm. So I watched this tall skinny Jr High kid throw 78mph. What you do is throw one time then guess how fast your second throw will be. So when I saw him throw 78. I said to my friends, I will throw faster than that. So I try it and my first throw was 64mph. I was embarrassed by that throw, but what was even more embarrassing was I said my second throw would be 84mph, so I threw it and it was clocked at 63mph. After everybody laughed and I walk away with my head down in shame I realize my freaking arm hurts now.

Re: Radar (pitching)
Yeaaahh I never played little league baseball or any league sports as a kid cause I couldn't afford it(some how I was still able to play HS football lol) so i'm not even really sure.
I play almost once a weekend now tho with some friends just some hitting and stuff so if I had to guess prolly 60-70 mph, all i know is I can throw a baseball better then a football some how lolSaints, LSU, Seminoles, Pelicans, Marlins, Lightning -
Re: Radar (pitching)
When I was in HS I was clocked at 87, but I didn't pitch. I was a catcher.
After HS I could ramp it up to 90 on a good day. Had some shoulder issues and that brought me down in the 70's.
My buddy, who is TheZinger here on OS threw 95 when he was with the Angels organization.Comment

Re: Radar (pitching)
I hit 86 a few times in college. Though typically was 82-84.
Went to the boardwalk in cali last March and got it up to 77...first time I'd thrown anything with effort in several years. Arm was absolutely sore for the next few days.Comment

Re: Radar (pitching)
When I was 13 I was clocked at 75. Never worked out or anything though, and I stopped with baseball about a year later. I don't know how much I could have added had I worked out or continued playing, but I'm sure my control issues would have persisted.Comment

Re: Radar (pitching)
I hit 85 once my junior year of high school, consistently hit around 80-82 with pretty good movement. Got tendinitis my senior year because I threw sidearm sometimes dipping down into subarmine status lol, so needless to say I never really regained that form againComment

Re: Radar (pitching)
In high school/college I was normally in the mid 80's with very good location and could touch upper 80's. I haven't thrown a baseball in many years so I doubt I'd break 70mph now. I do play softball one weekend in August for charity (SS) and my arm is usually a mess for a few days after.Comment
