Here is one I have always loved. Such jubilance and sorrow all in the same photo after what is probably still the most famous home run in baseball history:

Interestingly enough the image from the broadcast and NFL Films is the more iconic shot of that moment.
One of the greatest on field performances ever IMO.
Here's an iconic image of Bjorn Borg after winning in an **** battle at Wimbledon in I believe 1980:
