May Have Carpel Tunnel - Pulling Pallet Jacks
I have a 2nd full-time job as an order picker for Costco. All night (and into the morning hours) I pull pallet jacks with various loads (depending on the order) and also load trucks for shipping. For the last month or so, I've had a rather constant tingling sensation in my wrist and palm area. I've also lost some grip strength in the hand and have trouble lifting weights/working out.

Re: May Have Carpel Tunnel - Pulling Pallet Jacks
Carpal tunnel can never be corrected, once you got it, you will have it for the rest of your life. My dad has it and had it for the past 16 years now. Over time it got worse and now it is at the point he had to change job duties at his job.
My wife has it too. She had surgery on both hands and STILL have it. It is just one of those things that you will just have to learn to live with it.
Just go to the doctor. They will run some tests and if you have it, they will give you an official doctor statement to take to your job saying that you have it.
Basically over time, the worse it is going to get. It is at the point now that both my wife and my dad can't lift 30 pounds anymore. Which was a huge ego blow to my dad since he was a weight lifting machine.
Oh yeah, over time, your hands and fingers will cramp up and automatically make your hand or sometimes both hands at the same time close up on its on.
Which is why the doctor will give you some VERY strong muscle relaxer pills. It happens randomly. There was times when my dad was sitting on the patio just talking and all of sudden it would happen. -

Re: May Have Carpel Tunnel - Pulling Pallet Jacks
No need to feel sad, the earlier you get it detected, the better. Because that means the quicker you can change job duties.
Is it a life changer ? Yes, you will have to limit the amount of weight and pressure you put on your wrists. Limit the amount of time you spend typing at a PC or limit the amount of time you spend playing videogames at one sitting.
And since you load trucks and pull pallets, you definitely need to get that doctor statement as quick as possible.Comment

I see ads for these people all the time - http://www.brownhandcenter.com/home/
It could just be from the constant stretch of your wrist. I pull them occasionally at work and that seems like what happens. I say that because my hands are in line with my arms and my wrist are not bent when I pull.Comment
