Apartment Roommates Question

Hey guys,

I am looking to move out of my parent's house (again) and I was wondering the best way to find a place with roommates already there that I could move into.

Like websites that you would best recommend.

Any help would be fantastic.

I have a nice unfinished garage that is about 400 sq feet. It is right next to the kitchen, which has granite counter tops and some nice appliances! The garage floor has been painted and is in great shape. I have some workout equipment in there and I park my vehicle in there as well. After you factor in the gym/car you'd have about 50 sq ft of livable area. The workout bench is quite comfortable and I would throw in a couple pillows for free. Now the pillows have been used extensively but the shams are only about 5 months old.

Starting rate is $895/month but since I we met before and you let me dominate you in basketball I'll give you a one time discount of $894/month. The safety deposit is just 1/2 the value of my vehicle, so about $12,000. That's just in case you **** up my car in your sleep somehow.

Seriously. There are TONS of listings on Craiglist depending on what you want. I did it for last summer since I didn't know a soul here at the time. Lived with her for 6 months and it worked out great because she was in class all the time. Just make sure you meet the person several times first. If they want a security deposit, do a background check on the owner of the property.

By research I recommend actually meeting the person. Any crazy rapist sounds normal when writing a email, the only way to see if he is a crazy male rapist is to actually meet the potential crazy male Internet rapist.

I've got a couple good matches using craigslist in the past. It can be sketchy though, so like people have said, meet the person/people first before you make any decisions.

One of my moves was very time sensitive and I didn't do the homework I should have. I got stuck living with a trashy couple. After I moved in, I learned they were growing pot in the attic. She was a recovering meth addict who had a very premature baby 10 years prior when she was 13. The baby lived and was living with her parents and grew up being told that her real mother was her sister instead... The chick got prego while I was still living there and she continued to drink and smoke pot every day. I moved out before the baby was born.

On the flip side, a few years later, I moved in with a couple dudes that I found on craigslist. One of the guys became a really good friend of mine. So much so that I was in his wedding a couple years ago.

Best bet would be to avoid websites and personally look around friends or friends of friends. Never trusted websites for that.

Do some Google research, find out Hayden Panettiere's favorite TV show, buy 30 seconds of commercial time during that show and plead with her to marry you.

Once she says yes, and she will, you live with her and leech off her money for the rest of your life.
