Um...do these people not know that seismology is not an exact science? It's not like someone could look at the data and 100% say "oh yes a great earthquake will happen at 8 AM on July 15th" or something like that.

I can understand firing them but to charge them with a crime that nature commited is foul. If this is how its going down from here on out, we should be charging every meteorologist in the planet for lying about the weather each and every day.
