Who else works night shift?

Ive been working nights for about 5 years now. Most of my posting time on OS is on night shift at work. We've been pretty slow here so ive had quite a bit of time to recap on what news has been released throuhout the day.

I've worked shift work the past few summers, including right now, and one of those shifts is nights, so I guess I do.

Started on it back in February of this year, getting off it as soon as we hire somebody else. I enjoyed it at first but now that I know I'm going on days I'm dying to get off this shift.

Same here... almost exactly the same situation, except I started back on 3rd shift in January... lol

The sleep schedule is really starting to get to me. I feel tired all the time. And I know if they could just find someone to replace me on midnights that I'd get my promotion and start training for assistant manager. It's starting to make me hate these 10-6's.

Depending on my sked I work nights. 530pm to 530 am. I like nights a lot better than days. Im just a night owl but OS really dies down at night.

It sure does. Most places are laid back at night compared to during the day. I love night shift. I find it easier to wake up when the sun is out, rather while its still dark outside.

I should really try to find a night job. I'm up until like 7am every day.

I worked part time for UPS for a while. 10pm to 3am

I just wanted the job so i could make a little extra money and get a little exercise in while throwing boxes.

I work full-time night shift. 9:30pm-7am at a Gas Station. I love the work, not the shift. My social life is basically non-existent since my days off are Wednesday and Thursday nights.

I did for two years and hated every minute of it. I can't sleep in the daytime. I felt tired and rundown all the time. On my days off, all I wanted to do is sleep.

I've been keeping the schedule for the most part on weekends, but the odd time I do wake up early will screw everything up.

For example: yesterday I ended my shift at 7am, went to bed at 9am and woke up at 1pm. I then stayed up from there until 6am and went to bed and here I am now up at 1pm again. My normal sleeping hours are 9am-4pm or 5pm. I'll be a zombie for my Sunday night shift.

It just wears you down over time.

I usually get home at 8am. Go run, do some errands and lay down around 1pm. I wake up at 8pm, then go in at 930.

I work 1am to 9am at the post office. The only thing I like about it is the exercise from lifting the boxes. As soon as I find another job I'm quitting.
After work I usually take a 1 to 2 hour nap. Then I stay up to 7:30 and sleeep to 12:15.

I've thought abut the UPS thing, but I have chronic back issues so it's probably not a good idea to work with lifting boxes and crap.

I worked 11PM to 7 AM for about 2 months. Honestly, couldn't handle it. I was 19, had a serious girlfriend (now fiance), and still wanted a life. I could probably do it part time, 2 or 3 shifts a week, but I was getting 40 hours, 5 shifts because it was seasonal work. Good money, but not worth the toll it was taking on my life and my body.
