So anyway, whenever I apply for jobs, in the box where they ask why did you leave your last job (resigned, terminated, laid off, etc), I always put terminated because it was the truth. Now my question is, does it really matter if I say I got laid off? Termination makes it seem like I was doing something wrong, and there's really no way for them to check anyway because my supervisor no longer works for the company. I just feel like the fact that I got fired from my last REAL job has been the reason I haven't had much luck finding work.
Ah yeah, I wouldn't put terminated. A lot of employers see then and throw the app in the trash. Put laid off, or downsizing. You could rationalize both of those explanations imo.
