BTW can we get a multi-paragraph review of Blzer's birthday from the man himself? How was the lighting?

Just as a disclaimer, my birthday itself was rather uneventful. My "celebrating" will be happening over this weekend, as well as shopping for a birthday/graduation present.

Leading into midnight, I was watching Jeopardy with my mom. We record every episode (we're like 55 behind), and with DVR controls we will pause on questions so we can arrive at the answer, since there simply isn't enough time to come up with it most of the time. My friend called a couple of minutes before midnight and made small talk, almost as if it was coincidence they were calling then. Right at the stroke of midnight, she and a few of my friends yelled "Happy birthday!" on her speaker phone since they were all together, which was a pleasant surprise.

After Jeopardy, I went upstairs and got ready for bed, put on some Rocko's Modern Life on Netflix, and responded to wall posts that wished me a happy birthday. Considering I put my birthday as April 1st on the day of and got 100 people to wish me a happy birthday before revealing myself, it was pretty surprising that everyone was forgiving/forgetful enough to tell me it again and then some (maybe around 200 this time, so I sure spent a while thanking every person individually). This carried on periodically throughout the day, as I was also on OS earlier in the morning, just web browsing.

My younger sister plays softball, and I am unofficially her "hitting coach," so for an hour we spent time in the backyard as I did some drills with her off the tee and in soft toss. I'm also unofficially coaching with another team consisting of my sister's friends (at least for their practices), so we had a 2 1/2 hour practice that I was at. I hate drawing attention to myself with these kids, so I didn't tell them it was my birthday... but somebody must have known, and once everybody found out I got sung too, which I hate. Considering it's the longest day of the year, the sky had this bright blue luminescence about it that dazzled above ourselves, with the invisible wind visibly blowing the trees and grass. The shadowing could have used some work, as it was a bit obtrusive at times when the sun went behind the tree leaves, but I could let it slide since there were worse things to worry about, such as the grass mowing patterns in the outfield and the uneven spray of water in the infield to dampen the dirt.

After practice, it was go-time with the day of baseball and the three teams I watch (Giants, Braves, Red Sox). The only fortunate game to watch last night was Atlanta, as Heyward must have taken notice that it was my birthday and racked up two hits for me as I wore his jersey. Boston couldn't come through at all, and San Francisco had one of the wackiest first innings I have ever seen, but in all I wouldn't consider it the worst of games I have ever seen. I'd rather watch eight runs given up in the first inning, as opposed to the seventh inning. Anyway, during the Giants game I ate a nice birthday 20 oz porterhouse steak.

Once the Giants game ended, I contemplated going out to see Bridesmaids with my free ticket that I still haven't used up, but my mom and little sister were going to watch a movie in the house. They were looking at (500) Days of Summer, something that I had just watched last week, and I was interested in seeing it again. I plopped down with them to watch it, and they loved it as much as I had.

I kind of called it a night early on, and did my routine of going back upstairs, thanking people on Facebook, and watching more Rocko's Modern Life (vintage!). Not the most eventful of days, but the lighting held up on the west end of the country for sure. Like I said, I'll be enjoying myself a little more this weekend, and I'm still looking into what I'll want to get for my birthday. I'm leaning towards the RB3 Squier Stratocaster, but with its issues and it being discontinued and all, I don't know if it's of the better investments I could make. I'm also considering getting a set top box for my room, but I don't know if I want to pay the monthly fees afterward when we already have Xfinity downstairs as well. Time will tell on the kind of gift I'm looking for, but at least the best has yet to come with regard to my birthday events!

I think I'm fulfilled for the time being, but I can always pick some up down the road as they get cheaper anyway. I have a $50 Amazon card, a $150 Best Buy card, and a $50 Toys R Us card... so my gaming and movie stuff will be taken care of with those certificates I'm sure.

And Blzer, don't spend all day analyzing the details of your birth... just go out and have some fun

Too late. I was sitting there, thinking: "Shouldn't people be wishing my mom a happy birthday? After all, she was the one who gave birth to be. I didn't do much except cry and poop."
