Dude I'm a 32 year old professional with a wife and 1 kid (1 more on the way). Work for a website when I'm not at my day job and love to play video games... i just get my game time in when everyone else is asleep so i dont miss any family time. I handle ALL of my responsibilities

In my adult life, I honestly can say without a doubt that I will be agitated when/if I go 2 whole days without NCAA/playing a baseball franchise. That's my me time. It's not stress release, throwing a baseball is (which is the opposite of most people I guess), but rather time when everything is up to me, nothing is out of my control.

But then again I'm 18 and somebody will be bound to disagree with me

I have thought about this and I have concluded that I will play games until I die, HOWEVER, to quote a song "I think I could make better use of my time on land". I am cutting down hardcore on gaming. I still play up to 5 games a year, but I am trying to stick to the series I have already played, ala GoW, Mass Effect, Modern Warfare, Halo, etc. I am just going to play those series until each one dies out and then I will allow myself to play one game a year (not counting Madden and NCAA). I love gaming with a passion, but I would rather use most of my time building relationships with people, because when you hit the bucket, that is what really matters.

I agree with Watson. Everyday life is so hectic during the school year and when I grow up, everyday in the work force. So many things that make you mad weren't your fault at all. I know if I get lit up in the Show or blown out in NCAA, that's all on me. However, if I put up 10 on the Mets or beat Purdue by 40, that's me too.

I just love video games.

What makes video games different from any other hobby? Are you ever too old to watch TV or listen to music? It's just something to do to blow off some steam and entertain yourself.

I say to each his own. I'm 29, work full time and I go to school to further my education. I play games as pure enjoyment not just as a huge sports fan but as a gamer in general. I cannot sink the hours into Final Fantasy 7 I did when I was a teenager but If I have an off day and all my priorities are in order I can drop a day to get into a franchise or dynasty. I dont see it ever coming to an end either. I have friends that hunt, fish spend their time doing other things and thats fine, but as far as being to old I don't think there is a age that they become to old to play. Like many other things (Alcohol, Lottery,etc..) as long as its in moderation and its responsibly managed play on brothers.

My dad is late 50s and he plays PC ad 360 almost nightly. We have a routine of a game of APF couple times a week against one another.

Like EG said, my girl much rather me be sitting on the couch playing some 360 than me hitting the bars. Which here in Louisiana we have ALOT of lol

Thank you. I really don't get people that knock playing video games once you get to a certain age. There is still stigma with people that only think video games are for teens and children. Like you said, playing video games are no different than watching tv, being on FaceBook etc..

It's funny you said that. I had a PS3 a few years ago. I bought it in March of '09 and by October of '09 I had sold it. Well this past March I wanted to grab another one and my wife was pretty stern on it not happening. Her reason was, I had one before and sold it and I should have kept it instead of being a FootballForver type of guy (her words not mine). She had a point, but I kept pushing the issue anyway.

She was off of work for Spring Break and was out with her mom one day, I went to my in-laws house after work and there it was, a PS3. She said the only reason she bought it for me was because of what her mom said. Her mom pretty much told her what you said. My mother in-law told me wife to buy the PS3 and that I could be asking to go out on the weekends to bars etc... be happy that I want to stay home and play his video games.

My wife and I are in our young 40's and we're both avid gamers. We each have our own tv and 360 in our bedroom, and we play COD games together, or she'll kill bots in COD: BO while I play sports games

We have some separate hobbies as well (her: photography, computers, facebook gaming, crochet Me: playing music, movies/home theater), but we enjoy gaming, travel, shooting, bowling and golf together.

You need that mix of stuff you enjoy together and stuff you do separately, in my opinion.

I think the only reason for me to stop is that I get arthritis in my hands and it hurts to play. I'm hoping by then we'll be plugged in.

Especially now that you can have simple games on your cell phone, I've seen many older folks play games all the time. Its nice to see when go to a movies and you see older folks playing fruit ninja against each other on their ipad.

My dad is 63. He plays Far Cry 2 and some other games. He also creates videos and photo presentations on his PC. When you're retired, you're unstoppable! Too old? No such thing!
