Lol I just got a new part time job at a retail store, and they play the corniest music on the overhead system. I have this thing where I always mis-hear the lyrics sometimes purposely, other times I really wasn't sure what was being said so I go with what I thought I heard some examples.

And yes the speakers at this place are horribly muffled.

Ok this one I'll admit I made up fake lyrics as I listened, we were having a rough day and this song played so it was kind of fitting; and hey if you repeated it enough to yourself it does start to kind of sound like it.

Made Up: It's a horrible day and I'm not smiling

Actual: It's a beautiful day and I can't stop myself from smiling

There was a Lady Gaga song where she sung "En su bolsillo" which means in your pocket in Spanish and until I looked it up I thought it was something like In su-a-cee-yo. I literally can go all day listing songs I mishear over the ****y loudspeakers.

My wife is the worst at this. She messes up every single song she hears.

One of the best is that old Whitesnake song, "Here I Go Again".
She thinks is says "Like a TWISTER I was born to walk alone." The real lyric is "Like a DRIFTER I was born to walk alone." I told her the real lyric and she still insists she is correct. I said twisters don't walk. She replies that you never see 2 twisters together. I told her sometimes you do, but she is still not convinced.

I argue with logic everyday at my job and I'm good at it. I argue with logic everyday at my house and I lose every argument, even though my points are irrefutable. Being married means you will have to apologize for being right in every argument and the woman never apologizes for being wrong.

Jay-z's Public service announcement which is on NBA 2k13. My one friend has no clue what the lyrics are. "H to the O-V, I used to move snowflakes by the o-z" turns into something like "H to the O-V, I used to eat more cake by the oc" LOL

I just remembered a couple more that my wife messes up. Actually about every song she sings, there is something in there where she gets the words wrong.

We were riding in the car the other day and Guantanmera by Wyclef came on. I turned it up because I hadn't heard it in while. All of a sudden the chorus comes on and my wife starts singing and I just couldn't believe what I heard. Wyclef sings "Guan Tan A Meerra". But my wife was singing "I need a one dolla billa, one dolla billa". I was like what the heck? That's not even close to what they are saying.

Walking in Memphis--Marc Cohn

Actual lyric, "Walking in Memphis, walking with my feet 10 feet off of BEALE." My wife sings "Walking in Memphis, walking with my feet 10 feet off a PIER".

I wish I could record the exchanges when I explain to her the real lyrics. Those videos would go viral. She refuses to believe, even when I explained the whole famous Beale St. thing and the name of the actual song by Wyclef is Guantanamera. Her explanations are priceless.
