Re: Casey Anthony Found Not Guilty

It's obvious that she did it, but instead she decided to heel turn on her family.

Basically, it's probably, from a legal standpoint, a good decision, but from common sense, totally and utterly pathetic. I hope she can live with the decision that she made to throw her family under the bus and kill her child.

The ploy by the parents and her to present the confusion of a possible drowning and that leading to making it look like murder worked. The verdict was a product of a weak prosecution and a brilliant game played by the defense.

I think that she killed her daughter no doubt about it, but I think that the jury did the right thing. If they were even a little doubtful then not guilty and I think that's what happened. She will have to live with herself.

She killed her daughter but the verdict is the prosecution's fault.

Casey Anthony will get what's coming to her, but this was an utter failure by the criminal justice system. This is sickening considering what a lot of people go to jail for.

I accidentally voted yes, but I meant no.

She obviously did it and should pay for it. I don't usually use profanity, but she is what you call a BITCH.

I had a bad feeling she would be found not guilty. The prosecution was weak throughout the trial.

Re: Casey Anthony Found Not Guilty

My wife and I love 'Dateline Mysteries' and '48 Hour Mysteries'. We've watched quite a few and I've seen people get convicted with 10% the evidence that was available in this case.
On the flip side, I've seen people get not-guilty despite the person owning a videotape of them committing the crime.

It seems that big, sensational trials like this are decided not by evidence but how you tell the story.
If the suspect is pretty they're almost always found not-guilty.
OR, if the person comes across as creepy, despite having no evidence - GUILTY!

Jurors seem to think they're in a movie and the people involved are actors. The guy with the shift-eyes is always guilty while the frail princess is always framed.

I think there was more than enough evidence to convict her of manslaughter.
She had google searches for chloroform for crying out loud. The trunk of her car had air samples that comprised of decomposing flesh.
The garbage bag and duct-tape that were applied to her daughters body were traced back to Casey's home.
And that doesn't even include the mountain of lies she told.

There are many precedents of cases where circumstantial evidence was used to get a conviction.
There was no Jason Vorhees or Michael Myers behind this case. This is about a girl that wanted to be single and have all the attention poured on her.
She grew tired of having an anchor. Evidence showed that she would use Xanax to knock her child out so she could party (hence the reason she nicknamed the fake nanny she dreamt up as 'Zanny').
It's amazing how stupid jurors can be today.
If I'm ever charged with a crime, I'm hiring Steven Speilberg to bail me out. Tell a group of illiterate, unemployed jurors a great story, and you walk.

While I agree with the general consensus here, one of my friends just posted this on facebook and makes a very good point:
"People complaining about the Anthony verdict: Innocent until proven guilty. We don't have all the info, and from what I saw, I'd need to know more before finding her guilty. Whether we like her or not is NOT something to consider when playing with her life. There were key pieces missing in the prosecution's case. This is how our justice system works. If you want to be thrown in jail without a jury, go move to Serbia."
