don't really need to be in the loop. Goodwin went to salute the crowd, but as you can tell (or can't tell) it was a terrible salute, so he drilled into him.

To me it looked like he was about to salute the Gunny and you don't salute NCO's (Gunny is a SNCO). But as someone who served in the Marines I may be reading into it to much. Who knows, I didn't watch that game.

I thought it was because he had been "hushing" the crowd after he scored and on that one the Marine refused.
