Sick of getting junk mail? Me too. Here's something you can do to protest it:

Step one: Get the "No Postage Necessary" envelope out of the junk mail.

Step two: Put a brick (or anything) in a box.

Step three: Tape the "No Postage Necessary" envelope neatly to the box.

Step four: Put it into those blue mail boxes, the parcel dump at the post office, or in your mail box.

Insert a note inside that says the following:

Dear Bulk Mailer,
Please find attached to your no-postage-necessary envelope, this brick. I figured with all these great junk mails you send me every month, you'd like something in return! I know it costs twenty cents for every ounce I mail to you, so I hope it doesn't weigh too much more than an ounce.

A lot of school systems now seem to focus more on history in Middle/HS and very little if any in elementary school, guess they just find it too boring/don't care by then.

I think it really depends on the teacher.

I'm going back to school, and I'm pretty sure I'm set on going in for Education to be a History Teacher. The main reason being because of the way my History Teachers from 10th to 12th Grade were. The classes were never boring. They were my three favorite teachers, ever.

My problem with history curriculum is that is it the freakin' same damn thing since first grade. Unless a student takes advanced classes or additional classes you pretty much re-learn the same things every year. Same events. Same people. Same stupid anecdotes and "trivia." Plus, the general white-washing of history is pretty damn bad so I guess it doesn't really matter in the end.
