The nightlife there is phenomenal since its an "International" University pretty much... lots of chicks from around the world. Many, many nights having a "go" (getting drunk) there.
Do you happen to know how tuition compares to universities here?

I don't know how it is at other universities, but here at the University of Nebraska, in the college of business at least, they have a study abroad program where you go to Oxford but pay the same tuition you would if you were still in Nebraska.

Re: Moving to the United Kingdom/Europe

I worked in London in 08 for WB that lasted a year and had a miserable time. People treated US workers like crap and seemed it was quite okay to air their views on our foreign policy when we are trying to eat, shop etc and we were trying to mind our own business. I never want to go back.

Fast forward to last year, My Mom & Dad moved to Ireland on work. I followed them to see what it was like and again was treated to the 'hospitality' of the locals and left pretty sharply. My parents have had such a miserable time there they've informed the company that they are leaving as soon as the work Visa runs out next year and do not want to go back there. I lodged an official complaint with the Irish Embassy on how they have been treated as I was horrified about the stories they told me.

Don't worry, I know mine is 1 of 1000's of different experiences and yours may well be different. I do want to stress that I don't follow the "loud brash American" stereotype that some of our European readers may think. My employers and employees often said I should have stuck up for myself when these events happened!

One big advice is don't do what my folks did and spend a week in the country and go, this will be fine. It will bite you in the butt. Give it a good month. Research can only take you so far.

And be warned, it's so darn expensive in Europe, everything from food, gas, mail. It was cheaper for me to import the food in that I missed from home.
