Transvestite question
So I was thinking today as I was cleaning in the locker room at work today, which locker should transvestites use? It's a serious question. How would you feel if there was one in the lockerroom with you?Because I live in van down by the river...Tags: None -

Re: Transvestite question
First, there's a difference between a transvestite and a transgender person. If a transvestite was obviously in the wrong locker room, they would be kicked out immediately.
One day in college, our ultra-feminist business law teacher was gone for a class. In her place was a big transgender woman with a man's voice.
Instead of learning about business law that day, we heard her whole story - including a detailed description of the surgery she had to gain her lady bits.
It was quite an experience. And to answer your question, post-op, I think they'd use the locker room of the gender they now identify themselves as. I don't know how I'd feel if there was a post-op man in the locker room with me. To be honest, I'm not sure I'd even notice. I don't think they'd be flaunting it or anything. I would think they'd be pretty discreet and keep covered up for the most part.Last edited by ImTellinTim; 07-26-2011, 09:36 PM.Comment

Surgeries are so good nowadays, majority of the time you would never notice who was post op or not.Comment

Re: Transvestite question
Why would I feel any different if one was in a locker room with me? I'm going about my business, they're going about their's, and we'll both be on our way. Couldn't care less.
I think Tim was right; I believe they use the facilities made for the gender they identify themselves as.Comment

First off it's important to realize sexual orientation is different than gender identity. A person born female who's attracted to males may still undergo hormone therapy and masectomy to become a male herself and thus becoming a gay male, as opposed to a straight female. There are varying degrees of physical appearance even in the genitals, which are too graphic for OS. This is someone who is transgendered. A transvestite is simply a crossdresser.
The legal issues are complicated, and get politcal and or religious in nature.
So my second point is I'm VERY concerned this thread will go down the wrong path.
Tread VERY carefully guys, this is a topic on which theres enough info other places to not risk getting in trouble on OS.Last edited by ryan36; 07-26-2011, 09:59 PM.Comment

He didn't say that, he said to treat carefully while you do. It should be rather obvious that this path could lead down many roads, most of which are political and religious, or just plain offensive, all of which would be against the TOS.Comment

Re: Transvestite question
We can't have sexual related talk on OS. Sorry guys. Gotta close this one up."It may well be that we spectators, who are not divinely gifted as athletes, are the only ones able to truly see, articulate and animate the experience of the gift we are denied. And that those who receive and act out the gift of athletic genius must, perforce, be blind and dumb about it -- and not because blindness and dumbness are the price of the gift, but because they are its essence." - David Foster Wallace
