A dog's loyalty is like nothing else. Simply incredible.

I wonder if the dog is female. Females tend to be more protective of their male owners.

The connection between a human and a pet never ceases to amaze me. I bet the dog will not be the same for a while

Hard not to tear up when seeing that. The loyalty of a dog amazes me every time I see something like this.

Looked at the picture and then went and sat outside with my dog for 30 some minutes probably just sitting there and talking with it while it laid beside me with its bone.

                      Right?.

Man that's tough to look at.
My wife always told me that my dog Smokey would lay at the front door....for the 24-28 hours I was gone on my shifts waiting for me to come home.
She wouldn't even go downstairs to sleep in the room with my wife at night.
                      But this is another level.

Dogs are so damn loyal, which makes it so hard to want to get another one. When they pass, it's truly like losing a family member. My wife and I want to get a female boxer and name her Griffey, however after having our old family dog pass...I don't know if I want to go threw that again. And this picture almost reaffirms that.

Wow, I still have the tingles 5 minutes later...

I only wonder how this dog will act from now on. Will he be his normal self, or just a depressed fellow at home?

I just got home and my Pitt was waiting for me at my car door, but I had my hands full and couldn't stop until I had got inside and sat everything down. After reading this thread a few days ago, I make damn sure I take a few minutes to walk back outside and show my dog some love, even if it's 2 o'clock in the morning and I'm tired and ready to chill.

Very bittersweet. My dog helped me get through my dad passing away last October. They just know when something is wrong.
