If I recall correctly, I first stumbled upon this site when I was looking for gameplay videos of Home Run King on Gamecube. I found one of Barry Bonds homering into McCovey Cove, and thought it pretty awesome. One day when I wanted to show it to my friend, the video (along with the other four) were removed from the site, so I registered under the name MuffinMcFluffin and asked where the videos went. Afterward, I remained onboard as I learned more things about the All Star Baseball and World Series Baseball video game franchises, especially when asb_man and FatPitcher were around to contribute.
After a few unfortunate mishaps that I might have brought onto myself, I have thusly changed my username and started anew. It seems great to look back and see the origins of a young guy who just wanted to watch some clips of a baseball video game.
What made you decide to support Operation Sports?
What made me decide to? Well, I suppose the perks were always a nice incentive, but I wanted to show gratitude toward this website and community because of its sheer excellence in providing me with daily entertainment. No other message board website can replicate what this website does. Unfortunately, I’m not really one who frequents the main pages of this site (often times I forget they exist), but I have to give major credit to our writing staff and exclusive access to major events for popularizing this site to what it has become today. I hope that donating will be yet another step towards allowing this site to grow and function forevermore.
Those were my decision contingencies, but given reasons with not having a credit card and not really having my parents understand why I would do it when I was younger, I certainly had limitations when it came to being able to donate. That being said, I was not a blue name until this thread:

I was fortunate to be selected as one of the people who would be giving a hearty donation to this website, and I thank dkgojackets for that. In return, I want to actually do the same for two other members in due time, because I know what it feels like to be a heavy contributor, yet feeling dirty for not being able to get the donation in. At the same time, I know what it feels like to be blue for the first time. I want to spread that wealth to two other members who I feel are deserving of being acknowledged in some way.
I didn’t think I should have been conducted an interview until I actually donated for myself, though. So I ended up buying a T-shirt. Hopefully the large isn’t too small for me.
Your favorite sports teams?
San Francisco Giants – They are my local team, and were home to my favorite baseball player of all time (Barry Bonds). They have taken great strides since then, and I have been able to witness some of the greatest moments in their history alongside them. Their TV commentary duo is also the best in the business with Duane Kuiper and Mike Krukow, in my opinion. I will not ever convert to liking another team more in the NL West, even if I end up living in San Diego for the rest of my life.
Atlanta Braves – I believe the love originated with the players they’ve had. Greg Maddux is my all-time favorite pitcher, I’ve always loved the Jones “Brothers,” and Bobby Cox struck such personality that I was able to closely identify with them whenever I watched them. Include the fact that they were always playoff-contending teams year in and year out, and I could watch them on TBS all of the time, this was a no-brainer.
Boston Red Sox – I admit, much of my love for them came from hating the New York Yankees. It took wanting to see a team fail so miserably, that I was forced to choose to like the next best contending team in their division. They’ve also had a rich history, classic ballpark that they keep restoring, and only after finally winning a World Series, they now have the entire nation on their back. I’m not a bandwagoner; I simply chose a team which ended up coming out on top in the end.
San Diego Chargers – Again, this didn’t come from bandwagoning on their successes. The actual interest came from a little PlayStation game called Madden NFL ’98. As a big baseball fan, I loved to see when football teams played in a stadium where there was a dirt infield still in play. When I played season mode on Madden, I wanted to pick the Chargers because I knew that they played at Qualcomm with the Padres, and the dirt would actually show up in the game (neat feature for the time). Because of that, I began to learn who the players were and I started to root for them. Combined with the fact that I go to San Diego every year for summer vacation and I also went there for school, I just found a reason to like this team. Never really was a fan of my hometown 49ers for some reason.
New England Patriots – Maybe it is packaged along with liking the Red Sox, but this actually came from knowing Tom Brady on a personal level. My dad and his dad (Tom Sr.) used to coach softball back in the early 80s together for Tom's oldest sister, Maureen. They coached for like half a decade together. This was back when Tom was just Toddler Tommy. Anyway, Thanksgiving of 2000 we visited their family for a little reunion for my dad and their folks. This was actually before I really knew who he was. He talked some football and we played some catch, and honestly his name whizzed by me for the next year until I realized he was playing first string QB for Drew Bledsoe while he was injured. I stared at the screen for a second like, "Wait a second... I know him." Then I was like, "Oh crap, that was him?!" It was pretty funny. Ever since then, I had rooted on his team. In other words, if he for some reason went to the Raiders, I would start to cheer for them. That’s really the only story behind the Patriots love. It helps that they win, too.
San Jose Sharks – Local.
Golden State Warriors – Local.
What are your hobbies?
Playing baseball (though a prolonging heel injury has kept me from playing for the past two years), coaching softball, playing guitar, playing video games, skateboarding (which a shot at wanting to be the next Rodney Mullen stopped my sophomore year of high school when baseball became more serious), socializing, sleeping, riding roller coasters, and eating. Like Hugh Laurie in the show House M.D., I find interest in seeing everything as a puzzle, and I always want to solve them, no matter how that may be. I simply enjoy making the best out of situations, as well as making situations the best they can possibly be.
As you can also tell, I enjoy talking/writing. I have this inkling that it’s best to be as descriptive as possible when trying to give people the bigger picture. I bet you all knew that I wouldn’t let this interview go by without making it a full-fledged Nobel Prize winning essay.
Tell us about your family.
After graduating from San Diego State University, I have decided to move back home to my mom, dad, and younger sister (17) in Northern California.
My dad is a community college professor and a FedEx manager, so he works a lot of night/graveyard shifts, which makes him a narcoleptic during the day time. My mom works around the house, making sure that the rest of our family can live comfortably. We had a guinea pig from 2004 – 2010, and my mom made sure she lived the best life that she could. Cinnamon was such a loveable pet (and “little sister”), and I miss her dearly. Anyway, my parents can’t be replaced by anyone else; they raised me the right way, and I thank them for that whenever possible.
My little sister (still my little baby) is a senior in high school, and is looking to graduate at the top of her class. I’ve grown up with her by coaching all of her softball teams, ever since she was eight years old. She has grown up to be an excellent softball player, and I now have the fortune of watching her year-round again now that I’m back home. She sought SDSU as a potential college to go to next year, and I have a feeling that if she goes there, I want to go back with her for graduate school. I want to make sure she’s protected and making the right choices for the rest of her life, because there are a lot of influences that can certainly make her take a turn for the worst almost instantly.
I also have an older sister (25) who is getting married this October. She currently lives in Bakersfield with her fiancé, which is why I didn’t mention her earlier. She is a Stanford graduate and excels in most of what she does. I would consider myself to be the lazy person in the group, not applying myself to the best of my abilities when I think I could have done much better. She is a tough contrast to keep up with when she plays everything out perfectly. Although, I never needed her to be my role model or teach me things as I’ve grown up. At the same time, I never once recall us fighting, ever. My relationship with her is quite different than it is with my little sister. A little less tonal connection, but it is strong nevertheless.
