I hope this is the worst tragedy I am alive for.
I was in the hospital waiting rook watching the tv after the first plane hit. I'll never forgot it. It was like a movie.
Oddly enough, when they announced Bin Laden was killed, I saw that in a hospital waiting room as well. My son was born.Comment

Knight, first and foremost, thanks for posting the pictures. I remember being an 8th grade when this incident happened and was sick to my stomach because I knew we had lost many Americans. I personally never met any OSers but I know in my heart this site is filled with fantastic people. I love all you guys because I see you like an extended family.
Of course, no one knows this about me on here but I quit my job with the Quakes because I decided to become an ARMY officer. I felt in my heart that I had a duty to protect this country so I took the plunge and haven't looked back. I haven't gotten the interview yet, but I did well on my ASVAB, got a great GT score and am definitely in physical shape (haven't taken my PT yet). It helps that I have a younger brother who is a marine officer.
Just please be safe guys. I don't want anything to happen to any of us anymore. We can't let those people ruin our way of life and I'm determined to be a part of the solution. God bless you allAngels= 2025 World Series Champions!!Comment

Re: Photos from a Tuesday morning(and some time after)
I was a Senior in HS in Oregon...so the planes hit around 6 AM. My mom came into my room and said my dad had just witnessed a plane hit the WTC. I honestly didn't think much of it until I saw the amount of smoke coming out of the buildings.
I was in the shower when my sister pounded on the bathroom door and yelled "THEY HIT THE PENTAGON!!!!"
I was watching it on TV when the towers fell. It was so surreal, sickening....so many emotions I can't put it into words.
My first class was Government...so we just watched coverage on TV. My second class was a writing course and my teacher turned off the TV and said, "we've seen enough of this, we need to get to work." Half the class got up and left.
I spent the rest of the day at a buddy's house watching.
I still don't think, even 10 years later, that I can actually grasp the enormity of the event. Probably never will.Chicago Bears
