just saw ur last post. I hope you heal well. And take a boat load of Vit C. Camu camu is the best and it is a natural pain reliever. Fruitrients brant from wholefoods is very good
I suffer with terrible GERD, I use to feel like a golf ball lump stuck in my throat. It was from the acid burning the sphincter muscle in the throat and it becoming tight and inflamed. The doctors did a endoscope to check out my throat and stomach, this is when they discovered acid was tearing up my stomach and throat. They prescribed Nexium which I took for about 3 months with a little relief but my symptoms always remained when it wore off. They then switched me to Prilosec OTC saying "certain people bodies react better to different brands". So I then remained on prilosec and noticed the same thing, I got relief but I was popping a pill all the time which was concerning because I wanted to get the issue corrected, not cover it up with a drug.

So I started doing research and came across the same findings. Basically your body will continue to see something wrong when you use acid reducers. Your system is saying "there is not the proper amount of acid" So the pumps keep on running. Where if you get the proper acid PH in your stomach the body will then shut down acid production.

I did a 3 month stint of apple cider vinegar(unfiltered with the mother) 2 table spoons with 8 oz of water, every morning and every evening. My symptoms slowly got better to where currently I don't suffer from my GERD or heart burn at all. 100% completely fixed!! I even went in for a check up and the doctor said "That prescription has really helped, your stomach and throat look healed up nicely. No redness or inflammation". I didn't even bother telling him I have not taken a acid reducer in 6 months.

In our current society of "there is a pill for that" where everything is over prescribed, the most often solution you will find is to "pop a tums". I'm far far from a naturalist or one of these health nuts who believe organic is the only answer. Hell I'm a cajun who eats more fried foods and rich tomato based roux or sauces than most and I can say with certainty what Andromada posted is 100% fact.

Yep I do the prilosec 2 week thing every 4 or 5 months. Started eating better also and haven't had much issue with it in a long time. If I do happen to get heart burn I'll drink a glass of milk instead of taking an acid reducer or tumms or something like that.

I may try the apple cider vinegar thing....sounds simple, and hopefully will help my heartburn/reflux....It's not bad yet, but I know doctors and pills aren't the best option (know a few people who have issues that they can't fix). Just twice a day mixed with water? Pretty easy

Two tablespoons with about 8o, stir, and drink. Do that morning and night, in couple weeks once your PH levels in your stomach rise you should notice you no more acid issues.

Only critical thing to do, after you drink the ACV, make sure to rinse you mouth with clean water each time. It will eat your teeth enamel I have read if you don't.

Apple cider vinegar is amazing. Try to get organic like Braggs. I drink it 3 times a day now with water. You can add honey if it's too much for you. It also helps with weight loss and even dandruff. Crazy stuff that it can do to improve your health.

You also have to cut down foods that create acid and eat more veggies. You have to try to eat more akeline foods and you'll be cured.

I had the worst heartburn but after I went vegetarian and stopped eating a lot of processed foods it went away completely.

Thanks for that heads up on rinsing. Yeah, my dentist would kill me, I've just gotten my teeth/gums in great shape after being lax in going to the dentist.

Protip: Go to the dentist regularly, it's cheaper than if you get lazy and then have to get fillings and the like.

Tried it tonight and was a battle early to keep it down. Fought through the heaves and coughing though lol. I think I'll get used to it after a while

She found me an organic one...I haven't done it since but that's because I was working like crazy all weekend and just didn't have it in me at the end of the day lol

I'll try and do it somewhat regularly though. My stomach didn't hurt any more after I did it, so I don't think I have ulcers or anything....I may lower the amount of vinegar to start too...I went all in and paid the price lol. Definitely legit though, I feel better even now!

Put honey, it'll go down easier. Braggs is the best. I use it for salads and it taste pretty good and not as harsh as normal ones.

I may try getting that from Amazon if I can't find it in stores then....cause what I have tastes pretty nasty. I'm someone who can do shots of alcohol without chasers (I don't drink much now, but when I did I'd rock the shots) and this just sat in my stomach and made me heave lol. After 5 minutes it settled down and I was fine, but it was not enjoyable.

Thanks for the input though, seems like the perfect thing to help my reflux.

Edit - I may try these capsules : Vinegar capsules may be less nasty lol

Gonna have to give this ACV a shot, I've been on the pill-a-day diet for years but still get the throat lump problems, and all I'm really doing is masking the heartburn anyway. I remember hearing about this method years ago but didn't follow it right, need to do it the right way. Hopefully I can find the Bragg stuff

Also if you're diabetic it works wonders to control blood sugar. Got my mom in the habit of drinking it 30 min before meals. (2 tbsp/20 Oz of water) and her levels have been the best since she's been diagnosed. She also has lost weight which is always a big plus.

Holy **** man you weren't kidding, that was rough. I got the Braggs stuff at a local health foods place, the lady somehow knew everything about it, even verifying that I wanted "the mother" when I asked if they had an apple cider vinegar, told me to make sure I shake it well and agreed about helping stomach issues when I mentioned that was what I was going to use it for.
