Yeah I need something strong. I've seen a couple of houses in my neighborhood full fumigated but that's not an option for me but I need to handle these spiders man sheesh. They seem to just be on the wall or of nowhere.

Don't you get your windows all wet and stuff spraying that stuff.

It looks "wet" but dries clear fast. Plus you spray the surrounding seams not the glass.

For a contact killer it is hard to beat the Raid products.

This is the one we keep under the kitchen sink in case something "very alive" makes it in. Country Fresh scent lol

Well we rarely have issues with bugs making it in the house now, but its maintaining a strict routine of a barrier defense. It says 12 months protection but that is BS, max maybe 6.

When we first moved in there was a huge wood roach issue.

Those big giant roaches would make it in often. Since we live in a heavily wooded tree area they are very common to see in the dry leaf matter under the tree leaves but they would attempt to get in often.

For several years now we rarely ever see one inside since maintaining a barrier. Granted once or twice a year one will make it in (I'm thinking from the roof vents is only place I don't spray and contemplating it), but its a huge difference since continuing this routine.

Awesome, thanks! Should be a great fix for our issue.

Oh, Phobia, I saw Amazon has a deal on battery mowers (maybe a different one than you were looking at) but thought I'd post it for you

Yeah unless its from an exterminator I dont believe any store stuff would last that long. I just have alot of spraying to do around the house... and the windows arent the best ever but it'll have to do for now since theyre so freaking expensive...which leads me to another point

Man in the summer the house gets to inferno levels. We don't have AC..any methods of cooling down the house without one? I open all windows and stuff and have a portable one which only covers one room but man I need options galore when it gets warm.

I got lucky and replaced all my windows with the Low E double pane argon filled ones. I ended up doing business with the manufacture and gave them material for free and they hooked me up with the windows for cost.

As far as AC, your only option is window unit or portable unit.

My windows are side sliding so unfortunately the window AC won't work for me.

The portable one is OK but like I said it only covers one room.

I also forgot boric acid is a bug destroyer as well. That stuff is deadly

Our A/C died (covered by home warranty), but took almost a week to get it installed. We "borrowed" a 12,500 portable AC unit from Costco and it made our bedroom pretty nice for that time period. Now I just have to return it and get our money back lol

It's nice for one room, but it would be a pain to move around to different rooms (you'd want to get a solid seal on the window exhaust hose so bugs and stuff don't get in), plus it takes a while to bring a room down in temperature.

The portable one I have works well with bringing down the temperature, but man the entire house is worse than it is outside if that makes sense.

I have to figure something out in the meantime because ACs are not cheap.

Im not even sure ceiling fans would help

Yeah....do you have screens on the windows that can help block sunlight? I've gotta call the guy who did my parents house to get a quote....it'll really help cut down on the heat in our sun-facing bedrooms.

Might be worth a shot, but without any sort of AC you probably will still be warm.

Screens? Like bug screens that block sunlight? Never heard of that.

Cellular shades actually work wonders for insulation. They work under the same principle as double pane windows by creating an air pocket between the window and the room. That pocket heats up instead of heating the room. The only draw back is they don't block out light much.

He is talking about these, they are big down here in South Louisiana. Helps prevent as much sun rays from contacting the window and heating the window which transfers heat into the home. Granted you can just go with argon filled windows and it does same thing.

Call a screen specialist, I never had to get a bid, so I would be guessing on price.
