Re: Having a stroke under the age of 21

I don't have any good advice, but I'm glad you're out of the hospital. Keep us posted..

I'm 22 and I have to watch what I take in, as far as chemicals go. I even have to check with my doctor, before I try something new for working out..

I take blood pressure pills, because it runs in my family. My mother has it, my father, aunts, and uncles on both sides. My sister even started taking medicine for it at the age of 21. Good news is, it's not from being out of shape or anything of the nature.. just hereditary.

I'm sure we have some people here with some medical experience, but your doctors have all the charts and tests so they'd be best served to make the diagnosis or point you in the right direction.

That's scary. Everything's fine, then one day something goes wrong and it turns your whole life, your life's plans, upside down. My girlfriend has a cyst that she has to keep an eye on to make sure it never becomes malignant, and sometimes she gets pain in that area and she has to get it checked out. Those are always stressful times. All the day to day hardwork you put in to set yourself up later in life can come crashing down like that. It's incredible, in a mysterious and depressing way, how life can go from top of the world to rock bottom just like that.

Good luck with yourself. It's a sign you need to make some changes, I believe. Sounds like you already know that.

One last thing: make them check for vertigo. And KEEP pressing them. All your vitals are good, so that's why I say this. My girlfriend has vertigo back in February. Doctors were baffled for a week or two, so we were bugging out pretty hard ourselves. Finally, she got a neurological specialist and there's these crystals in your ears, and they were out of whack with her. Turns out, he just made her do a few exercises (and made sure she had antivert medication for when symptoms popped up) and rattled her head about and, viola! Things were better shortly thereafter.

I actually posted about it here. http://www.operationsports.com/forum...1-vertigo.html FlyingFinn's final post was helpful, as that was before her specialist enlightened her to the whole crystal thing.
Slick, since you posted that link, I read it and the OP of this thread mentioned his mom had/has it.

I hope everything goes well with you man.

I had something happen to me before that scared the hell out of me.

My head started spinning and eventually I screamed so loud my friend I am living with had to cover my mouth so I wouldn't wake anyone. I then just blacked out. Everything was just blank then after I don't even remember how long it was I heard these beeps like a alarm clock over and over and over again. It scared me a lot, I started to think I was dead and stuff then that just started repeating in my head. Idk how long it went but then I came to and every single muscle in my body was weak. Turns out while i was passed out I had all my muscles clentched. I could barely walk or lift stuff the rest of that day. Luckily I woke in my bed thanks to my friend dragging me there.

Well then I got this sore on my arm that eventually got really sore so I finally went to the doctor (I never go, to much $$$ that I don't have) and they confirmed it was mersa(staff infection) and the doctor said that was the reason of my episode. I don't see how it would be so if anyone knows what could of happened I would appreciate it. Nothing has happened since then though.
