Since I do all most correspondence through email (and I'm a nerd), I send a nice email.Rose City 'Til I Die

 Re: Off Topic 2012

How have you been communicating with them? In college I was always told to keep the same form of communication. Unless of course you're only talking to them on the phone then I would do mail a thank you note.Last edited by Fresh Tendrils; 06-01-2012, 01:03 PM.

Email would be the way to go. You don't want to leave your thank you note in the USPS's hands. You could get the job and retire by the time it's received.Comment

 Re: Off Topic 2012

My fiancee does that all the time.

Speaking of my fiancee, if we don't have an apartment by the time we get out to Eugene, it'll be her fault. I'm alright with the apartment that's been heavily endorsed by my cousin, but she thinks it has no personality, and is not excited about it because of that + it has carpet. Honestly, I couldn't give less of a **** about it. Here's my thought process:

 1. Can I put my bed in it?
 2. Can I lock the front door?/In a decent enough neighborhood?
 3. Can I have an office?
 4. Is it close to work?

 It fits my criteria. Hmmph.

She found a house that would have been perfect for her but we got in too late and now we gotta hope the two people that see it don't sign a lease for it.

So in conclusion: her damn fault if we don't have one and we have to stay in a hotel. But it's not like it's gonna change much, I'd still be paying for the hotel. Hmmph.Rose City 'Til I Die

 Re: Off Topic 2012

"No personality" and carpet are the reasons you're not taking a perfectly good apartment? Ouch.

You're probably making the correct decision waiting it out, though. Happy wife, happy life. You know every time a vaccum got started up or something got spilled you'd be hearing about it. Also, every time you sat down to play a game she'd be sitting there looking around making comments about how bland your apartment is.Comment

 Re: Off Topic 2012

Yeah. I have been selling this apartment since we've started looking, pretty much. My cousins thought this was the standout winner of the ones they looked at, giving high praise.

Yet, my fiancee is still looking. I... I just don't have it in me right now.Rose City 'Til I Die

 Re: Off Topic 2012

Ouch, There are some decent apartment complexes around there. One off Goodpasture Island Road I think. A friend of mine lived there at it seemed pretty decent. All the others I know of would be too close to campus for me (1. being that is uo, the other being I've grown out of being near college parties). My fiancee does that all the time.

Oh, you're actually in Eugene? Somehow I kept thinking you were in Corvallis.Ouch, There are some decent apartment complexes around there. One off Goodpasture Island Road I think. Anyway, we're looking to be south of the water, so I don't think that one you referenced would be for us.Rose City 'Til I Die
