When you guys go to a customer service desk, do you wait for them to ask how they can help you or do you just start talking?

The receipt checker at walmart noticed I was charged twice for a case of beer and told me to go to customer service to get it fixed. When I got over there I waited for the people in front of me to finish, then walked up. The worker was talking to her friend behind her, but was obviously aware of my presence. I was like, do I stand here and wait for her to say something or do I just start talking? I ended up just talking and her friend shut up.

I usually just stand and wait since I'm patient, but honestly that would piss me off. Do your ****ing job when I'm standing there waiting to be helped.

I wait, but if they're just talking to each other about nonsense while knowing I'm there, then I have no problem with saying "Excuse me, but I was told to come over hear and ask about something," or something similar.
