Cautionary tale: 500 Days of Summer.

This is exactly what I was thinking of while typing what I was to her. I was even going to say "Have you ever seen the movie 500 Days of Summer? It's like that." But of course I'd have to give her some kind of edited copy that ends after JGL's Hall & Oates dance.

The good news is she didn't take offense to it, so I safely walked that tightrope. She just said she's "not that type of girl" (which is a good and bad thing, haha) and now the conversation has moved on.

The girl from the other night. The one that brought up the Batman movies (including the Schumacher ones), Indiana Jones, Star Wars, and Arrested Development. Her music idol is Buddy Holly and she named checked The White Album as her favorite album. She was telling me that she can make a double Pumpkin cheesecake.

I'm obviously very intrigued to see where this goes.

Any time I read a Stephen A. Smith tweet it feels like he's yelling at me like he does to Skip Bayless on TV. Maybe it's his typing style? I can't be the only one who experiences this.

In other news. Lil Wayne surpassed Elvis for most Billboard Hot 100 entries. He now has 109.

Yeah, quite a bit. I also bus it home from work with her most days.

I can't remember if I posted it here or not, but a couple weeks ago I just told her straight up that I liked her. Here's the catch: it was on ****ing Facebook (caught a big time L there). I did that in the hopes that that would just cut through the bull**** and I could mostly avoid playing "the game" or whatever. If only it were so easy....

After I had told her that, things were still somewhat the same between us but I could tell her demeanor towards me had changed a little (in a good way). Still though, neither of us made a move so even though I told her how I felt we still ended up playing "the game" where we'd show interest in each other but didn't go any further than that. It also didn't help that she had told me on one bus ride home that she wasn't interested in a relationship at the moment so I kinda figured that was her telling me no, but even then I didn't want to just hear that and give up on the spot, so I stayed locked in.

And now fast forward to today and I just finished having this crazy conversation with her that was basically the breakthrough. That whole casual relationship talk I posted about earlier somehow lead into us just suddenly getting really honest and in-depth with each other, more than any other time we'd talked. We both pretty much let everything out and said what was on our minds.

I guess things started flowing once I started half-jokingly egging her on as to what her type of guy was or what she looks for in one. And then she went on to re-establish that she's not ready for a relationship yet because she went through a painful breakup and also that if/when she does get back into one, the guy also has to accept her kid as part of it all as well (which is a good thing because it shows she's not just some young and immature girl that had a kid too soon).

I'm not sure exactly how to take the fact she still isn't ready for a relationship yet, even though she told me she feels the same way about me that I do about her, but I think I just need to make a move and see what happens because it's already pretty much gotten past the point of no return. So I guess we'll see what happens....

Damn ya'll been talking for a while now. I would go crazy personally. Have you asked her out to a date or anything?

And **** the game. I hate it, but apparently it is necessary. Well, not necessary, but I feel like you have to decide if the person is worth running through that obstacle course. Of course, I think a lot of the game's mechanisms are self-imposed via over-analysis and simply over-thinking things. For now, its coming down to patience for me and trying to cut through our schedules. She says she's busy and I believe her, but ******* if Tom Petty wasn't right about waiting. Thankfully, my more mature self is able to handle things with a bit more restraint.
