BTW I agree with you Gotmadskillzson when I was a kid you'd at the very least have seen a snowfall even if it didn't stick. This global warming thing makes the late November/all through December period less festive.

No. By the time the ratings system came out in full force, I was already 18 or older. So it didn't matter because for the following:

1. I was buying the games myself
2. I was living on my own and already out my parents house.

So yeah, mature rated games really didn't come out until I was already living on my own.

My parents never really cared what I listened to or watched. But they made it perfectly clear about what was acceptable language and behavior for me in the real world.

Not really. My mom hated some of the things I got, but she always trusted that I wasn't an idiot who would be influenced by them. Very similar to what ITT said.

Only exception was when my brother got Leisure Suit Larry for Christmas in whatever year it came out for Xbox

My parents never had a problem with mature games, or at least they showed no interest in finding out.

I was already a young teenager by the time mainstream video games started offering adult content. We had HBO/Cinemax, wasn't home schooled and had the the internet, so they probably figured I was beyond sheltering at the point.
