Strongly considering making professional changes in 2013. Could have a new opportunity opening up for me. Nothing is for certain yet, but my best friend gave me a tip on something possibly opening up at the company he works for.

Started to grow tired of my current situation. Stopped pushing myself because I've hit the proverbial wall. Need something new to challenge myself.

With me starting a family becoming more of a reality, I'm hoping this will work out.

Not getting my hopes up, but the idea of professional change does make me excited.

We shall see what the future holds.

I plan on jumping into it here in the next few weeks. I'm waiting to see if they have a sale around Christmas. I know Greenman has had it cheaper, but I'm on a Mac.

If you're talking about FM, it's steamplay. You don't need to buy a separate version for mac/pc.

Really? It just made me nervous because Greenman says PC only, and I'd rather not waste $30.

Edit: Actually, I have a $25 gift card to Best Buy, so I'll just use that to buy a Steam card so I'll only spend $20 out of pocket on it.

This may be a rant.

But who the hell came up with the 40 hour workweek?

Obviously this doesn't apply to everyone, but how many times in an office setting, have you literally worked all 40 hours in a week and not gotten everything done. I can maybe count one time a year where I was literally maxed out on work, and that's the end of the year auditing.

Normal times during the year, I probably do a good 20 hours of work and the rest is spent browsing online, talking to co-workers on the phone about irrelevant work **** to kill time, updating my fantasy roster and other random things.

Maybe my job is just less busy than others, but I still feel like 20 hours of work is still a lot of work in a week. Imagine 20 hours of studying for a class in a week? Or 20 hours of writing papers. But when we get into the workforce, that's supposed to be half assed? I don't get it lol

I average working 40 hours a week, sometimes I go over, and a lot of times there's still boatloads of workload left to be done.. but that's because I feel there are only 2 other co-workers in my Department that put forth good effort, 1 being my supervisor.

A lot of the employees I work with I feel put forth the minimum amount of effort, do just enough to avoid visits from upper Management, leave things undone leaving more work for the rest of us, lolly gag and socialize on company time, endulge in going over on their breaks, and frequently come in late, and call out.

As you can tell I don't really like most of my co-workers.

I've messed with some text sims some... nothing that is quite as sophisticated as this looks. I really want to try it.

Meanwhile, it's 5:30 and I still haven't started that paper... which means I've still got about 2 hours before I need to start thinking about it.

For one of my school courses, the teacher posted a review package online, but when I went to the package, half of what was on it, was stuff that WASN'T in the notes/textbook....

Really makes me worried now bout the final exam, cause everything from this review is on the test, but if I can't even find half the info from the review from anything that's been done in the course(including all the teachers notes that were posted online too)...what's there to do!?!

UPS called me today and changed my 11am shift to a 530pm shift.. and i only worked 2 hours. how lame is that?
