    Re: Off Topic 2012

Man, I've found that I have not touched my PS3 for any personal gaming recently (have played FIFA with friends when they come over). I think school and work and the stress from those two have kind of killed my passion for sports gaming at the moment. It's temporary-ish, I feel. I know I have the desire to play, but then I boot it up and can't devote an hour or two to a game of NHL or Madden due to time or just lack of interest.

I would play CODMW3 but my damn connection is HORRIBLE. At least, that's what I'm attributing my terrible K/D ratio to (my connection is terrible... that SpeedTest thing put me at like worse then 49% of the nation or something). I was pretty good at COD4MW, skipped MW2 mostly, and then with this I started off well. Just looking at the kill cams, I can see how delayed my response is. Doesn't help most of these people play on huge TV's with HD graphics while I'm on a 20 inch (if that) SDTV.

On the connection thing... when I was using the computers at school I was shocked with how fast links would load. I've grown accustomed to opening two tabs... one for the wait between loads and one for the actual loading of a link.
    NHL - Philadelphia Flyers
    NFL - Buffalo Bills
    MLB - Cincinnati Reds

I have just recently got a little bit of my gamer back.

I went a few months, barely even touching my PS3.

The only time I even turn the Satellite on, is for sports or for Archer on Thursdays

Other then that, I watch Netflix and play my PS3..

Such drastic differences in car insurance prices posted by you guys. Obviously some of you are talking liability only, while others with the higher prices are full coverage I assume.

I just added my son to my policy since he now has a drivers license. It was $1000 for a year, ouch.

I financed my car when I was 21 and they only wanted $104 the 2011 TX TRD Tacoma, that I almost bought..

I ended up with an 06 SS Cobalt and started out paying $154.

Geico was def. the cheapest, because State Farm and All State wanted almost double that. I couldn't believe the different.

I went to a local insurance agency and they hooked me up with Erie. Rates were obviously lower than anything else I found online. Coverage is pretty much the same I had on my parents policy, too.

I've got to get my daughter on ours. Not looking forward to seeing how much it's going to cost. What kind of coverage did you get for your boy? Is there even a choice? Or do all teenagers just need to be massively covered? lol

I don't remember my insurance being anything flashy, when it was tied in with my parent's. My parents bought my first vehicle and I traded it in on a new car, but they struck a deal with me. My dad paid for it up front and let me pay him back, so I only had to get liability on it.

It still covered to have a few things done. I hit two deer in three years and had to pay a deductible to have it fixed.

If I remember correct, my coverage was close to $80/mo.

They actually don't need to be massively covered, but if you are looking for some type of full coverage for her be prepared to pay lol.

I have AAA insurance so I just added him with basic liability. You can save money and add her as an excluded driver for now. This helps explain it...

It would be the cheapest way to add her, You could then look to get a separate assigned risk plan if possible down the road.

The car I bought him, I bought used and paid it off in full (2004 4dr Saturn). That helped his rate a lot obviously.

Good luck in adding your daughter, good times!

Side note: It is great not having to drive him to and from school now, also it is great having him available to pick up my daughter when needed.

                        Thanks.

What's funny is, the car we're giving her was the first car I ever bought on my own. A 95 ford escort that still runs well. It needs a tune up and some new hoses but the air still works and it has a new timing belt and water pump.

It's been tossed around my group of friends the last 10 years or so since I gave it to my buddy (who needed a car badly at the time while living in L.A.) after I got married. It found it's way back to my driveway.

Her first car will have functioning AC, you are spoiling her. Everyone's first cars AC should be rolling down the window.

We're paying just over 1,000 a year for my wife and I on our two cars. Not sure what the going rate is right now but we've just kept our same policy for years and it was the cheapest at the time.
