Re: Off Topic 2012
I think that's pretty much true. You can target who you want to talk to and not have to worry about "oh am I making a bad impression?" or get distracted by the physicality of a one on one situation. It is true that some women will put up really old pics or pics that make them look better than how they look in reality but i'm sure a lot of us guys do the same thing.
I'm always apprehensive about showing my picture. Actually my GF and I were discussing that and she said that her first reaction upon seeing my pic was that i'm cute so I thought that was nice. Speaking of her, I'll be off for another week though i'm sure i'll post from her place again.
Great place if I do say so myself though Cooperstown is probably better from what I hear of it. They do have a walkabout tour of Fawcett Stadium (I think that's what it's called) I kinda regret not doing that and i'm pretty sure i'll never set foot in Canton again, Oh well....
My uncle is a big fan of cricket. I've watched some matches and I can kinda sorta follow it but don't ask me any terms or anything like that. I have an appreciation for it but it's on the same level as Rugby to me though I think I understand that game a little more.Member of the Official OS Bills Backers Club

Re: Off Topic 2012
Quick Q:
I'm applying for a job in Eugene. It has a dropdown for when I would be available for work. If it was local, I would say 2 weeks after offer. Since it's a move across country, I'd say a month after offer. However, it wants a date, and I am ****in' lost. No idea what to put in it. I don't want it to be too far out, but I don't want to say like tomorrow or something. Anyone have any ideas?Rose City 'Til I Die

I would go with a month, and when you interview, explain your situation.Quick Q:

Re: Off Topic 2012
I put the beginning of May. Hopefully I hear something back soon. It's a shame though. My fiance and I put in a lot of work in rewriting my cover letter specifically for this company, and their system didn't even ask for it. Oh well, what are you gonna do?Rose City 'Til I Die

Re: Off Topic 2012
Take the average. You don't want it to be 2 weeks (too soon) and you don't want it to be a month (4 weeks; roughly). Go 3 weQuick Q:

Re: Off Topic 2012
Alright, so I've applied for that.
Anyone have any web sites that might help with keeping track of job searching? I'd like to log everything I do so I can quickly glance over it and see if I need to do anything.Rose City 'Til I Die

You could just make a simple checklist in Excel and make a tab for each place you apply.Comment

I've heard this "patience is a virtue" junk all my life. I'm happy to say I have no virtue, no scruples, and no desire to wait too long for anything. In my humble opinion instant gratification takes too long!
