I only knew him from this.

Never actually watched the show, but I saw commercials advertising it while watching other shows on Investigation Discovery. Apparently the show didn't last very long though.

Yeah, sometimes those dreams can seem very real. When I was growing up mine and my sisters bedrooms were on opposite sides of the attic in our house and were separated by a small (maybe 5' x 5' ) hallway at the top of the steps and there was a nightlight plugged into the outlet in that hall. One night I had a dream that I was laying in bed staring at that nightlight and I heard someone coming up the steps then I woke up and was laying in the exact same position I had been in the dream. That kind of freaked me out for a few minutes.

That Collinsworth also played wide receiver at the NFL level with a reasonably high skill level as well gives credibility to his analysis.

I do like Troy Aikman and Phil Simms as well, and I don't understand the hatred for Joe Buck. Maybe I'm just easy to please? Or maybe compared to Brent Musberger and/or Mike Patrick, other sports personalities appear far more competent by comparison.
The piece on Manningham was good, really. I'm just pissed that he **** all over Manningham and slurped up Eli Manning for putting in the only place he could. Uh no, Manningham had his dude beat, yeah he cut it a little too much outside, but Manning could have dropped it in bounds. It would have been an amazing throw, but still. He placed no blame on Eli, only on Manningham. Rubbed me wrong.

I only really watch NFL, so I guess ignorance is bliss. When I watch NBA I usually ignore whoever is commentating, haha.

Mo, are you watching Smash for Anjelica Huston?

So I might have just committed the act that got me fired from my job.

Whoever was scheduled to open the store, uhhh, did not show up. The driver scheduled to open had to come by my house, knock on my door, and we went up to the store and I opened the doors.

Then... the system was not shut down properly last night. So that took about 10 minutes to boot up. I got it up, clocked in my general manager (so the driver could clock in), then bounced out of there.

They made it very clear if you are not scheduled as the opener or closer, you will be getting your pay cut despite performing the same duties (besides you know, being the first one at the store or the last one at the store [aka opener or closer]).

Technically, I'm a shift runner BUT with this new schedule, they implemented the new changes and I'm listed ONLY as an in-store associate. So really, technically, I'm NOT a shift runner this week as my general manager is scheduled as the closer when he trains me to close (another reason to get out of there, now it's mandatory I have to close... seems like these new rules, claimed to be direct orders from the top, are targetting me and the two other shift runners who are left over from our old general manager's staff... FUNNY HOW THAT WORKS).

So really, I probably can't get in trouble. Though with the way this company works, they'll find a way to twist it up and get rid of me. And I'm sure if I had the time and money to fight it, I probably could, and win. Actually, if this does go down, I will definitely look into that angle. Because I want these mother****ers to go DOWN.

My general manager was blowing up my phone this morning (probably because he didn't leave a key with the opener today, though there was no one waiting by the door anyway so who knows what the hell really happened). I knew this was going to happen, but he is the big boss so he should have driven his *** to the store and opened it, NOT me. So this is going to look AWFUL on him and on the inside, I'm loving it. Sounds like you definitely did nothing wrong, sounds like your gm is the one with problems. Hopefully it all works out, but you sound clean as a whistle in all that.

Yeah, I think I covered my bases but like I said, they'll do whatever they want. My old general manager got fired despite pulling in the best sales in the state and #2 or 3 in the region. We are all expendable.

I just don't feel like it's my responsibility to cover the store in case of this just because I live within walking distance. The funny part is, if they hadn't broke this news of pay cuts and mandatory closes, I would have happily gone in this morning and opened the store (in fact, I probably would have BEEN the opener... and just like my perfect track record, the store would have opened ON TIME and ready to go). But hell if I'm going out of my way to do a favor for this company and this store. Maybe that's an immature angle but you know what, I feel it's what I've got to do and what's done is done now. If they had created a better working environment, you'll get happier employees and higher morale. When you tell people you're going to cut their money, cut their hours, start asking more of them, making them work longer for the same amount of money, you don't get the benefit of the doubt. I'm not their ****ing pet, I'm a employee who deserves fair compensation for the tasks I'm assigned to do. They don't want to go the extra mile for me (not even go the extra mile, just keep my pay rate as it is... not asking a lot), so I will give them only what I must and not one iota more.

It's not an immature angle at all. You have to look out for yourself because no else is going to. At some point you have to draw the line, otherwise they'll think they can just take advantage of you and you'll always be getting the **** end of the stick.

Haha, dude, I'll try as long as the material keeps coming.

I dunno, I just feel like companies can just walk all over people and it's not right and I'm taking a stand. I'm gonna be that guy that fought the establishment and got ****ed but... at least I have my integrity and know in my heart and mind what I've done is right. I will not compromise myself.

We don't have enough people like that anymore. People with some morals, some ****ing character, some guts to go against or question what they're being told.

I do feel confident in my decisions though. I've kept my Dad informed on the whole saga and he's behind me. He wouldn't hesitate to tell me, "Son, you're being a punk." So that gives me conviction in what I'm doing.

I may lose my job over this, but like I said, my prospects for another are lined up pretty well (not a sure thing, I know, but looking good). And the time off would afford time to job search LIKE it's my job. And there's also unemployment too. I have some bills (car insurance, health insurance, groceries) and it'll be tough for a little bit but I think I can turn around and make money doing something.

*On the phone now... fiance' is behind me too. Glad to know I have support.

I've woken up in a bitter mood today.

I think it's because the first thing I heard today was about some Boston sportswriter's article, which nearly single-handedly tries to set my desired profession back 10 years with all the idiocy included in it.

And I realize they call him a blogger, but when you work for a legit news site you're merely a less-glorified journalist.

That awkward moment when you tell what you thought was a funny story. Only having to say "you had to be there" when you realize no one is laughing.

                            - Tell someone a story you swore was funny as hell
                            - The person listening gives a half hearted laugh just to save you some embarrassment even though they are thinking "that wasn't funny at all"
                            - Then you realize they aren't laughing at all and hit him with the "You had to be there, that **** was hilarious" line

Yeah I hate when you try to tell a joke, or a funny story and it doesn't go over so well with the people you are telling it to. Like you're into your story, trying to hold off on bursting out laughing and they are just standing there with a blank face just staring at you.

                              Awkward.

My high school doesn't have anyone famous yet. Closest we get is Badger Offensive Tackle Ricky Wagner.

My rival high school has a few people though. My mom went to school with Jeff Jagodzinski. Dan Jansen and Chellsie Memmel also went there.
