actually yeah lol, the general sentiment seems to be "if you don't like what I like then you're an idiot"...

It's the same thing with a lot of sports arguments I see, "if you don't agree with me then you're just dumb" I've never understood that logic lol

The one that bothers me the most is "you obviously know nothing about [sport pertaining to the argument]" or "cleary you don't actually watch any games" ... those arguments drive me nuts! especially "have you ever even played [designated sport being argued]?" like that means you're incapable of understanding the nuances of the game.

You're right but sometimes (in the case of "have you ever even played [designated sport being argued]?"), it's somewhat understandable when people underestimate some archievements or things players do because they lack knowledge of the sport or they simply don't care much about it.

Fair enough. It just irks me when I'm talking basketball strategies with someone and they use the fact that they played HS basketball and I didn't as their main point about an NBA strategy. Like instead of delving into my subject matter they'd rather just dismiss my ideas because I haven't played organized ball in forever. Like anything I say is automatically invalid unless I'm an NBA hall of famer, have they listened to Shaq on TNT?

I understand you. I can't watch Inside the NBA as much as before, Shaq being there with his chaka wak or whatever sounds he does makes the show somewhat unbearable to me.

I think it's awesome that being hipster has become mainstream, the opposite of what being a hipster is supposed to mean.

I was actually thinking about this when I was walking home tonight after seeing some of the Grammy performances tonight (not my choice BTW).

It's funny how it's now "socially acceptable" for girls to dress in such an outrageous way (random hair colors, crazy haircuts, obnoxious outfits, etc), and for guys to dress like what once would be considered nerdy (those thick black glasses, tight jeans, plaid shirts, etc).

I don't know when or why this ever became the case or how it started. I just find it strange.
