So day 5 of my Flu infestation, making slow progress but still not where I need to be.

Saturday - infection day, felt fine in the morning, but when I came home from work I felt like complete ****, could barely move my legs.

Sunday - stayed in bed all day, started to feel some recovery thought I just came down with a pretty vicious Cold.

Monday - decided to go to work, because I thought I had a Cold and was recovering big mistake, came home and actually felt worse.

Tuesday - Stayed in bed all day, coughing up mucus, getting cold shivers, still feeling weak.

Today - Fever subsided, Shivers are starting to fade away, still have a cough but not as bad, still have some muscle weakness but I am recovering. Contemplating calling out of work tomorrow, If I don't see significant improvement by Tonight, tomorrow morning.


I don't think I've ever been this sick, this bad, for so long... what sucks is that I lost all my muscle gains I worked so hard to put on during my weight training regimen, due to lack of appetite, dehydration, and just generally staying in bed. Lost about 12 lbs and counting. I just can't stop thinking about how badly I need to hit the weights, once my body defeats this thing.

I caught the same thing. It took me 11 days to get over it. The last 5 days was just a cough, but I was coughing so hard I'd throw up. Didn't sleep at all those days.
I played basketball last night thinking I was 100% over it, but my body is still obviously dehydrated because I was cramping really easily.
That flu bug is NASTY.

I was really happy about leaving work, but my phone and facebook have been blowing up with texts and messages from co workers. There's a few people that I'll miss and I would even consider good friends.

Sounds similar to what I had a while ago. Luckily for me it only lasted a week or so but it was pretty damn vicious. I felt like my chest was going to give in every time I coughed.

That's nice to see man. I was kinda surprised with how well my fellow staff took the news as well. Two of them have already asked if they can come and work for me in the new business.

I had a fail moment this morning. Getting ready for work I reach up to get my brand new cologne (Armani Code - was an xmas present) and it slips smashing on the floor and shattered into a thousand peices and all the cologne is gone. To make it even more awesome I managed to cut my finger pretty badly cleaning up the glass and had blood everywhere. failmorning/10.

I know the right thing to do was put in a notice, but considering the circumstances, I should have just worked the week out and resigned, Monday. I'll miss a few days worth a pay, just because I was nice enough to put in a notice.

Since I have some free time, I'm thinking about hitting up Redbox and get Uncharted 3 and try to grind it out and beat it in a day or two.

So what part of Aussie land do you live in anyway ? And does it feel weird chatting with us since it is a huge time zone difference. Like our night time is your morning.

I use to have a friend that lived in Perth, don't know what happened to her, but it was always weird when we chatted. I would say today will be an awesome saturday and she would laugh and say that was yesterday for me.

Chase are you getting a nice payout when you leave for things like accrued annual leave etc? I'm lucky enough to have been at my company just over 10 years and we have something called Long Service Leave here in Aust that kicks in after 10 years which is the equivalent to 8.6 weeks pay. So when I leave I'll get about 2.5 weeks pay from accrued annual leave then an extra 8.6 weeks pay for the LSL so that will be a nice lump sum.

Yeah that is a bit strange at first but after talking with people from the US and Canada online for so long it's almost second nature for me to convert the times to the US time. Sports have helped that because your prime time sports at like 7-7.30pm for things like nba games are usually around 10am the following morning our time.

I live in Townsville on the North East coast of the country. I guess as we are a pretty tropical climate here where people often move to retire from colder states we might be something like Florida to you guys. Though Giggas would be a better judge of that as he's been here.

Just out of curiosity our franchise apparently usually pays 52k plus small bonuses to it's managers, is that considered good / bad for a manager of a fast food resturant over there?

I won't get any special bonuses or anything, but I do get the money I invested in Home Depot stock, as an associate.

I haven't read my report lately, but when I started buying in two years ago, they were around $29/share and now they're above $50/share.

I've invested 10% of my check since I started, so whenever the next cash out period is, and I'm forced to sale, I should be receiving something good.
