I don't know what part of Florida you lived in before, but moving to California is probably good for an extra 15-30 minutes of daylight right now. Where I'm at, we're getting 15 hours of daylight right now.

I was kind of surprised it made that much of a difference, but today, the difference between Miami and LA is actually 40 minutes on time of sunrise (LA is earlier). I'll be damned. Does it have more to do with where you're situated within the time zone than north-south distance?

Are our days lasting longer to anyone else?

Now I know its the summer time. But I just left for work, waking up at 530 and its light out. Then last night my little nephew asks to go play outside, and I tell him "No we cant. Its nighttime." only basing it on time (being about 8). He says "No its not." The kid was right.

I remember last year, I would leave to train clients in the morning at the same time. It would be dark when I would leave and I would train until about 630am. I would go back to my car and take a quick nap before my next client. I was able to do this because it was dark.

This year its light before I even leave. I always thought that it remained darker longer in the mornings and remain daylight longer at night during the summertime.

I could be a bit paranoid though with watching a guy named David Icke, whos a quantum physicist I believe, on Youtube a little while ago. He was speaking about how the world is going to experience big changes this year with the Earth's rotation slowing down as eventually its rotation is going to reverse direction.

Dont know how much of that is true. But I couldnt help but think about that. It could be just because I'm on the West Coast now. Lol

It's a bit of both really. My cousin was once telling me that when visiting relatives in Michigan near the western bounday of the Eastern time zone it was still light out at 10 PM.

A little bit of both, like someone else said. East-west position within your timezone can make up to an hour of difference, I'd imagine. As far as length, it will make no difference, but if you're further east in a time zone, your sunrise and sunset could be different.

Yes. I grew up in one of the counties bordering Wisconsin, which meant we were in the Central time zone. But visiting family in the Eastern, we'd gain an hour of sunlight at the end of the day. Of course, the opposite is true in the morning.

Ugh, last night played the Yankess in MLB 12. Chased CC 8 runs (6 earned) in 2.1 innings. Arrieta pitched 8.2 giving up 3 runs. As the highlights were being recorded the power in our house cuts out, for a minutes. So pissed, I hate replaying games, especially when I know that I will replay the game and lose 7-2 or something like that.
