I actually had a damn good time at Hooters, which is rare. I didn't even eat anything.. just drank.

We had two waitresses in our section. We soon found out that we were all from the same area and knew a bunch of the same people. So we had two girls at our table, talking, pretty much the whole time. One girl clocked out from her shift and came back and sat down with us. It's sort of refreshing, when you know they're not there just trying to sucker you into leaving a good tip.

I have some real sociable, talkative friends anyways and it was different having a waitress that wasn't just some air headed chick with good looks.

We exchanged numbers with each other, which wasn't even our idea. Eh, it may or may not go anywhere, but two of the four of us that were there, are engaged or married.. I'm all about "networking"

I'll give it a few days and see what's up. If it's nothing, oh well..

I hate the night before I fly. Leaving for 2 months for training for my new job with EMC Corp. Job came out of the blue as a recruiter found my resume somewhere. Went in for the interview two weeks ago. Was driving home about 20 minutes after I left the interview and they offered me the position with a 15% pay increase over the salary offered prior to the interview. Now I have to travel to Massachusetts (wow did I really spell that right with out help?) for the next 8 weeks. Will miss a trip to Florida with my fiance to finalize plans for our March wedding at Walt Disney World.

First time in almost 4 years I will spend more than one night away from her. Been putting up the strong front, but I am going to miss the time we spend together, working together. She started her own business and I managed it for her. But this opportunity and salary (which is the only reason I took the job) was way to good to pass up. In the long run I think it will be great. I am well suited for the job and for whatever reason EMC loves me, so we decided I should run with it. Only real negative is that the job is in McLean, Va and I live in Central, MD.

Ugh, I can't sleep and I hate the night before I fly. Luckily I have a bar fully stocked with expensive whiskey and vodka, so I will eventually go to sleep.

Yesterday was kinda humorous as I had to go meet my GF and go to her place at 8 in the morning. The previous night I didn't sleep too well and so while I was good to go in the morning/early afternoon I started dragging like hell by the time 2 PM rolled along. She was getting tired too and we were like zombies trying to stay up til 9:30 (she has to go to bed a bit earlier now since she's got a job) We BARELy made it but it was totally hilarious how i'd be nodding and dozing of and she'd yell at me to wake up and then she'd nod off and i'd have to poke her.

Luckily we're both a lot more energized as we got 8 hrs sleep each. Nonetheless i'm alone in the house right now as she's gone to her work orientation.

So after working 6 of the past 7 days, including last Sunday which I didn't and should have never had to work, I got asked to work again tonight.

And you haven't drowned in the pool, yet? Shocking. Drink more rum.

Do you have that side smoker box too? I haven't quite figured out the best way to use it. I realize smoking would be the obvious answer, but I smoke indirectly on the main charcoal grill.

I wouldn't think the grill part would get enough heat smoking off the side box.

This thread was way too active today, took my several hours to catch up.

I have been watching soccer and wrestling literally the entire day.

As such, I didn't really have much to say in here today. There's sections for that stuff.

I had a FlashForward marathon on Netflix while I sequestered myself from the real world. The Tigers were the MLB.tv free game of the day and since I'm in the blackout zone I have to wait til 90 minutes after the game finishes to watch the replay. Better than nothing.
