    Re: Off Topic 2012

Here, they hang out at the edge of Wal Mart parking lot, on the hill in front of Gamestop and in one of the shopping center parking lots in front of Arbys, Winn Dixie, etc.

I did it when I was in high school, so I can't say much. We just did Wal Mart parking lot and the mall parking lot.. raced a bunch of people and acted a fool.

It would usually last a few hours, until everyone was off work and met up on Friday or Saturday and then we decided where we were going to drink, party, etc.

Taco Bell at 2am was the spot in HS, or the beach at night.

I don't think there is really a spot at FSU given how many people there are, but there are certain clubs, etc. you go to each day of the week

There's always been random spots for teenagers to hang out. When I was in Fresno, there was a Taco Bell parking lot that would always be packed with people. I know a bunch of people here who used to hang out in the supermarket parking lot.

It's odd to me, but eh.

I never understood the just randomly chilling in a parking lot though, I mean we went to Taco Bell to at least get tacos and well the beach at night is just pretty cool

Our hangout spot at night in high school was Applebee's....freaking Applebee's. Welcome to Bloomsburg.

From an outsiders point of view, all of it seem very lame. But to the people who was actually doing it, they were with their friends, so for them they were having the best time in their life. In the end, don't matter where you hang out at, if your friends are there you can make pretty much any spot fun.

Yeah, that's why I don't say anything about the teenagers who do it now.

I was once a member of the group that hung out in parking lots. It was something for us to do after a big game on Friday night, before we moved on and partied.

You could go to town and drive through and you were bound to run into someone you know, so you stop and talk and next thing you know, you have a bunch of people there.. security would come out, we would laugh at them, until they sent the real police. Most of the time, the police were nice, but if they were jackasses about it, I would be stubborn. We would move somewhere else and continue on.

I catch a lot of looks from the crowds, because of the car I drive, but I never stop anymore. There's some people out there my age (22), but it's mostly teenagers and there's not much there for me.

I was a "co-president" of a car club, when I was in High School. We called it Khaotic Kustoms. We even had the vinyl logos on the wind shields of the cars. It seems stupid, looking back, but it was a lot of fun... we would go to the local track as a group, park together as a group, etc.. that's the kind of **** kids do around here. The import scene is surprisingly big and you still see various car clubs around.

I still see my old Honda floating around, sometimes, with the vinyl still on the front wind shield. I sold it to a guy, when I turned 19. It's still got my style, written all over it. White 99 Civic SI with a body kit, halo led headlights, smoke tail lights, and 17" Black 7 spoke ADR wheels. It didn't have a back seat. I gutted it out and my dad helped me weld a half-roll cage and I had two JL Audi 12s and two amps to run the subs and the 4 MTX door and rear speakers.

I know it sounds stupid to sell it, after all that work, but it was sort of cool to pass it on to someone else and I had started feeling like I had out grown it.

I worked my *** off in High School and paid for all my own ****. I didn't have many bills, so I spent a lot of my money on vehicles.. haha.

I also see one of my friend's Mustangs that he sold. We get a kick out of the fact that they never took the vinyl off of the wind shields and most people know who the cars were customized by.

Once you get old enough to go to clubs and bars, buy your own alcohol, etc.. sitting a parking lot doesn't seem near as fun, but I def. understand why people do it.

Yeah in HS we hung out at someones house unless we had business somewhere like a restaurant, movies etc. This chilling at the parking lot thing sounds weird to me. Maybe its a city slicker thing. I dont get the appeal. Then again Ive heard some strange things about other HS from people from college. This one girl from NJ told us (from NYC) that hanging out at a bonfires at night was normal everyday stuff. I was like Waaaaaat? So yeah different culture I assume.

I'm definitely not a "city slicker".. lol.

I grew up around a decent sized city, but it really isn't that big. We mixed it up. I've been to my fair share of parties on a farm or out in a huge field with a bon fire. I love those type of parties... don't have to worry about anyone ****ing anything up.. people around here do love to party.

edit: Actually, it's getting close to that time of year. The parents of one of my best friends, own a huge farm close by. One of the barns has a few pool tables, huge sound system, and a few dart boards. That's where we had our HS graduation party.. great place to throw down.

I meant it must be a city slicker thing (me being the city slicker) that I dont get hanging out in parking lots or bonfires.

Where I live(middle of no-where Ohio) me and my group of friends have a bonfire every weekend and during the summer at least 2 or 3 times a week. We just put on some country music, sit around the fire, drink a few beers, and chill. Probably sounds ridiculous to anybody who doesn't live in the country though lol.

There is this one group of kids at my school that hang out at Denny's, to me that is just weird. I just can't see what is appealing at Denny's but to each their own I guess.
